You should at least watch the first two movies, they are the best of the series, and the cartoon series if you can. You should also buy the game soon while it is still available DRM-free. (The same company that made it already just lost the rights to another of their games here.)

You should watch the movies because its one of those trilogies that work perfectly as a whole and also each movie is fun watch on its own.

You should really watch the BTTF movies. They are not only a classic, they're very entertaining, with lots of little details. good acting and very well written... I still watch them from time to time when I need a break from real life (and I don't feel like playing any games)

btw, the games aren't so bad if you focus on the plot, but don't expect a masterpiece...or a good gameplay for that matter
