Wishbone: I've said from the beginning that I think GOG made a grave error in insisting upon developing their own forum software. That's not their core competence, and it shows.
RahaMies: I do agree with you. This site's forum is pretty clunky when it comes to posting stuff, since you cannot use any kind of BBCode and you cannot preview your message before sending it.
There are some good things. You can very easily mark subcategories you wish to quickly access and you can also follow topics inside those subcategories with ease. Another good thing is that people can't post any kind of signatures, which often are some stupid graphical s**t that doesn't have any kind of message, aren't funny/informative and take way too much space.
I like the absence of signatures too, as well as the small size of avatars and their lack of animation. I have a good cable connection at work and at home, but I don't like waiting for all that stupid junk to load even so, and find it uselessly distracting.
As to codes, I've used character formatting codes in posts before and had them work, but as you can see here, it looks like you can no longer use [italic]character[/italic] formatting [bold]commands[/bold] in the ordinary way, and that's a little weird. The forum took a step backward unfortunately.
