Hi,

So I'm trying to figure out something. If I have a game, can I trade it? Or only if I have an extra copy?

The completely uninteresting to me Dragon Commander just sits on my "shelf". I feel kind of bad about not liking it and not using it. Maybe it's... having it on the shelf like that, staring at the box art. I want the sensation of it being used, going to a better home. Sort of like the Cleats I only wore 10 times that I finally gave away. Only. I used the cleats more.

Sorry to ask, I clicked the Trade Forum link and it was just people making trades, kind of confusing.

I'm new myself so I'll keep an eye on this one for any info too...
Ach. No. I found the answer.

If it's on your Gift tab, that is, gifted but not redeemed you could potentially / probably trade it instead.

Sorry, but you can't trade games that you already have in your account. The only exception is if you didn't download the game and/or its bonus content and no more than 2 weeks have passed ever since the purchase.
Yeah, it's a good idea to buy games in a gift form and then send the codes to yourself instead of making a purchase just for your account. That way you can trade or give away your games if you change your mind about them.

Thanks for the added details. But I think that 2 weeks isn't quality of experience, but if GOG has sold malfunctioning products.

That's not for malfunctioning products. That's only if you accidentally purchased the game or if you never really wanted it. In both cases, you can get a refund or convert the game into a giftcode, provided you haven't downloaded a single thing and if you did so in 2 weeks.

For malfunctioning products, you actually have a 30-days guarantee. To be eligible for this guarantee, you must fulfill the necessary requirements (correct OS and system specifications).

It's not about quality of experience - since you can't use this options if you downloaded the game. It's rather for "Oops, I totally forgot that I own this game already", please GOG take it back.

Since GOG doesn't use DRM they can't handle it any other way - lest many people would buy and demand a refund when in reality they keep the installers. No DRM means no surveillance and a lot of trust on GOG's part - but even that only goes so far...

The 2 weeks period is ever since the purchase, not ever since the redemption.

Why is 4 only two weeks,as long you follow 1 to 3 then 4 should be indefinate?

I repeat. 2 weeks since purchase, but not since redemption. If you buy a game as a giftcode today on 29 December, you have 14 more days till you can get a refund. It doesn't matter when you add the game; the sale will be final 14 days after the original purchase.

Ok if I understand it correctly do 1 to 3 and 4 is two weeks for refund and indefinate time to give away?
I'm pretty sure the times were as follows:

_30 days if you don't downlaod it and just change your mind about it.
_N̶o̶ ̶t̶i̶m̶e̶ ̶l̶i̶m̶i̶t̶ 30 days if the game is broken or you have technical issues with it.

EDIT:
http://www.gog.com/support/website_help/money_back_guarantee
So it's 30 days for technical problems too, not limitless as I thought.

EDIT 2:
I can't find anything on gog.com FAQ about the time you can exchange the game you haven't downloaded, but this thread suggests it's 30 days, not 2 weeks.

Correct. You can buy a gift code now and give it away in 10 years, if this is what you really want. But you can't ask support for a refund in 10 years. The "Oops! What the eff did I buy there???" joker is only valid for two weeks ;)
