All games are DRM-free and modified to work on newer systems. That's pretty much it. Oh, and remember to buy Sacrifice.
Well, buying games. Trading, client (if there is) .... And basics...
Welcome to GOG!

What part of the site is confusing you? We'll be glad to help you out.
You buy games. You pay with Paypal or a credit card. You download the games (through your browser or through the GOG downloader). Once you downloaded them, they are for you to keep. You can install them wherever you like, whenever you like, and how often you like. None of the games require any form of online authentication or any other form of DRM. On top of it, the service is completely legal.

Anything else we can help you with? :)

There's no client. The games are DRM free. You cannot trade your games though. Buying is pretty much like any other store. Once you buy the game, it appears in your account and you can DL it as many times as you wish and install it on any computer you own.

Trading : http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/classifieds
de_boxy, do you want some free games?
To be clear re trading of games: if you buy a GOG game for yourself, you cannot trade it in or trade it to someone else. If you buy a GOG game and choose the 'gift this game' option when purchasing, then you get a code that you can either give away to someone or trade for something.
You will most likely not survive your first giveaway. Mark my words: if someone offers you candy or a free game (especially xyem),... RUN.... THEFUCK... AWAY.
We should really have a sticky for newcomers like easy tutorial to nagivate the site, tips about trading and to search for games and where to find necessary information to get them to work.

Here's the downloader: GOG Downloader
You can still download game via your browser.

Here's the beginning of the forum where you can search for specific games as sub-forums: Sub-forums

Here's the wishlist for games you want here: Wishlist
Don't expect them to come right away but it's something.

Here's the catalogue then go to the price section and choose free to try out some games here: Game catalogue
You can organize by OS, game modes, release date, developers/publishers, price. :)

Here's classifieds trading thread: Classifieds
If you want to be able to trade you have to buy a game as a gift. You do that by checking buying, go to checkout and then pick: "Select to gift this order". That way you will receive a CD-key that you or anyone can redeem on this page here:
Redeem
