Thanks, I lurk alot more now adays. Joined the ranks of the employed and find time at a premium unfortantly.
My favourite memory of Quake was the demo. I remember thinking "Holy shit! It looks so real!". I played through 'till the end, to beat the lava golem thingy (can't remember his name now), and remember thinking that I could hardly wait for the full game, which I bought promptly as soon as it hit the shelves of my local Toys 'r Us (Electronics Boutique had already sold out; also, this was before certain "family friendly" stores made policy against stocking "M" rated games, which I don't think existed at the time), where I also picked up Alien Carnage from the bargain bin.
