Happy Birthday!

http://www.bethblog.com/2012/05/01/happy-10th-anniversary-morrowind/

Time sure flies.

"10 years ago this week, we released the PC version of the The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. While I was still a senior in college at the time, I remember it being a monumental release, and I was envious of PC gamers playing it before it released on Xbox. In the five years I’ve been working at Bethesda, I’ve learned to appreciate the game even more. The game was vital our company, and allowed us to continue the series with Oblivion and Skyrim.

It never ceases to amaze me how strong Morrowind’s community remains. The modding community continues to push the game to its limits and Morrowind will always be the sentimental favorite for longtime fans."

So then, what were YOU doing back in 2002?

Playing Morrowind.
Ah yes, if only there was some Morrowind left in Bethesda.

Bethesda as a good developer we knew with Daggerfall and Morrowind is gone

To them sequels mean simplifying and dumbing down of games, making each release worse and worse until there is nothing left of an RPG at all

But hey, let's just remember the good stuff they made in the past and leave it at that
Congratulations Dunmer.

Actually, I didn't get this game until after the Game of the Year edition came out, whenver that was. All I recall is that I had it during high school, and I played a long ass time.

Well, to me Skyrim is a tremendous improvement on Oblivion and those atrocious "Fallouts."

The game remains one of my favourites both as a PC and Elder Scrolls game.

Still got the GOTY around and did like the Tribunal/Bloodmoon EP's.

Wow 10 years? I am really getting old. Damn it. Great game till today. Looking forward to replay after my first play through Arena and Daggerfall.
I didn't actually play Morrowind until summer 2004, when I got the GotY edition. I remember this vividly because I was taking some summer classes, and Morrowind almost made me fail Organic Chemistry. I was so damn sleep-deprived.
Morrowind is imo one of the prime examples of games were you had to "work" for your enjoyment. But then it was awesome. Once you delved into the lore, an awesomely awesome story opens up that is amongst the best in gaming.
My favorite game of all time.

My ex and I played it for like 200 hours each the year it came out. I was practically obsessed with it. Despite thinking Skyrim is a damn good game I would still say Morrowind was the pinnacle of the TES series, for mood and creativity alone.
One of more favorite games, I have been wanting to play it again
One of the best rpg ever and sad though to think that 10 years on all they have done is dumb down rpgs from what this game had to offer.

Although i do enjoy Skyrim i do miss the stuff morrowind had like repairing stuff and medium armour.

Playing Counter Strike.
hmm, good times with Morrowind... my she-elf battle mage in a dwemer armor was perfect, too bad she died with my HDD before I could finish :(
