Navagon: I probably put more hours into Morrowind than any other game...
...with the bloody cliff racers.
I put probably 200 on Morrowind on the Xbox, and then the GOTY came out and i put in another 200 hours, more or less. And then i got the GOTY version for PC and discovered the insanity that is the modding comunity, and lost another 200 hours in the process.
And about those Cliff Racers, according to Oblivion lore the dude that greets you in the ship, the very first guy you see, exterminated the Cliff Racers and was deified for his work.
Edit: Hands up everyone that thinks that Morrowind had the best "this game is going to be awesome" feeling right in the first 10 minutes of play.
You go from a fairly typical awakening setup, to going on deck and gawking at the water effects and "is that a giant bug over there?", to a very clever way of creating your character, to being dumped in the street.
And then it hits you like a cinderblock: "My god, i can go anywhere, do anything, be anything!"
What an amazing way to start a game.
