I have a lot of fond memories of horror movies. Back in my youth, especially during the summers we would go to the video store and go into a back room that was darkened, and decked out in horror memorabilia. It was fantastic. We as a family would get to pick out a couple of these horror movies and watch them together. Horror wasn't the only genre we would watch, but definitely memorable. We would stay up all night watching movies like Evil Dead series, The Unnameable, Hellraiser series, or even Phantasm series to name a few.

But I'll go for something more obscure for you that really is truely horrifying. The build up is slow, confusing, and mysterious. But the payoff flabbergasts and makes you go daaaammnnn, thats some twisted I'ma get medieval on your ass. Oldboy (2003) a Korean movie about a man who is kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years only to be released with no clue as to why he was imprisoned and is forced to find he captor within 5 days. IMDB says its a Drama, Mystery, and Thriller but I could categorize this as horror. If anything else, hopefully it is something you have not seen before and can add it to the collection of movies you will see. It has a rating of 8.4 on IMDB out of 10 and in my opinion a well made movie.
