“It was my decision to make Half-Life 3 into a movie.” Newell continues, “My vision for Half-Life 3 is built upon what Half-Life 2 had tried to accomplish. As I’ve stated before, single-player games are not realistic while multiplayer games can achieve much more realism than what single-player games can.”

“So players should not blame Abrams for this. He is only fulfilling my idea of what Half-Life 3 should be,” Newell explains, “No one would want to play a multiplayer Half-Life 3 so the best way to flesh out the Half-Life universe would be to turn it into a movie. I hope everything can understand why I made this decision.”
