cogadh: but take it with a grain of salt.

Yeah, I'm taking.
It's just annoying, if you are like me and believed long ago on that crap about episodic releases, separated months of each other. And people even call DNF as the only famous vaporware.
They have two MP top games to support now, L4D2 and TF2, develop a convenient story arch for EP3 and HL3, and maybe develop a new engine. Considering this, I believe it for myself, goodbye 2010 release.
The only possible 'good reason' at this point would be if Valve were working on a new engine and delayed Portal 2 and Ep3 because of that. Not that it makes much sense to release the third and final episode with a whole new engine...

Agreed. Just release EP3 on the same engine, it's just nonsense, even if the stats on steam show up 50% of users with DX11 and all that.
Do you guys know anything about Valve + Microsoft, project natal? I'm just asking.

Valve? Natal? Valve hated consoles even before they went gimmicky.

I really hope it's just some tech demo Valve are doing. Last thing we want is MS getting the idea of flogging Natal to PC users as well.

are you kidding? have you seen that gun attachment they're in love with? and they're already working with another game peripheral company on bringing "wiimotes" to PC that are PC and PS3 only.
Valve fucking loves gimmicky shit.
I gave up on EP3 when EP2 took a year and a half from EP1 to come out and EP1 took a year and a half to come out after HL2. Well, a year and a half after EP2 nothing. Not even news. We heard about zombies and now in 2010 all you hear about on the street from Valve is TF2 (A horrid game that I never understood simply because it takes 5 shotguns shells in the face to kill someone) and more notably L4D (Ok as a pass-time but not the best, has it's obvious flaws) so I gave up and stopped hoping.
EP3 is a dream, it may come true but like most of our dreams it likely won't, so spend your life chasing something worthwhile because EP3 will last only 6 hours if it finally does come out.

News to me. But then I kind of lost interest in Valve's output when L4D7 was announced, TF2 received its millionth update and no other game seen or heard of. Seems odd to me that a company that hated the idea of FPS on console would be quite happy with a wiimote on the PC. But then it wouldn't be their first hypocrisy.

No, they only hate the idea of THEIR FPS games on the PS3.

And 360. They hate the PS3, but that doesn't mean they like the 360. Oh, I know they develop for it, but then let's not pretend that Valve are not interested in money. Anyway, as I already stated, they're hypocritical about many things.

I never said they were a charity or should be. But when they repeatedly claim to hold a certain stance then blatantly act to the contrary, it does become apparent that greed is the dominating factor. If they abandoned the pretence this wouldn't be such an issue.

Telling a company not to be greedy is like telling a baby to stop crying. FOREVER.
