Well, I purchased something from china on amazon a while back, and it was a total of 3 dollars I beleive, they cancel after about 2 weeks, and also did the thing where they say it was shipped . After about those two weeks, they also write saying they wrote the wrong price and that the person has the risk of being fired from where they work due to it, and then ask me to send like 15 bucks to them. Me: "Fuck that."

A marketplace seller , I suppose. Report it to Amazon and demand a refund since they unilaterally changed the price and failed to deliver

Strangest thing I've had happen while ordering from China:

It was my girlfriend's birthday a few years ago, and I was looking around for the best price on the 5 Season Pack of Criminal Minds, I noticed one on ebay, it was priced significantly lower - probably half average price. Anyway, their feedback was all very high, so I orderd it, a week goes by and the package arrives in the mail, packaged very well in a cardboard box and several layers of bubble wrap.

We open it up and everything looks great... the packaging is spot on, glossy with a metallic looking sheen on each of the DVD packages, everything is great... until we put the disc in the drive...

Wow honey, what's that loud noise the DVD drive is making?? Why does the picture look so low bitrate?

I take one of the discs and put it in my computer out of curiosity.

Hmmm... no copy protection? DVD-5 instead of DVD-9??

So basically, they were bootlegs, and whoever was in charge of producing them decided to spend all of the budget on the packaging rather than the disc quality so that ignorant types wouldn't notice they were bootlegs.

If I remember correctly we complained and they agree to give back some, but not all of the money.

Well I just checked, yeah it doesn't say refunded either. Said they were losing 1,000's on that order which I highly doubt for such a cheap thing. (other sellers are selling for that exact price.)

So she hasn't had once since?

What seemed weird is that they were trying to guilt trip me, I hadn't received the product, nor the refund from what my amazon account says.

I have a hard time buying from marketplace sellers. I lack that trust that you must have before making the purchase. If it isn't a Prime vendor I don't buy from them.

Chinese bootlegged dvds are a real bread and butter industry for the Triad. Just a heads up on that fact. It is really nothing new there, as that is way they get to see many tv shows that are overall censored or refused classification by Beijing. Quality wise though they are pure shit.

Nah not a bootleg movie, was an el cheapo router I can use as a backup if need be.

My post was meant more for djdarko. Didn't know what you purchased, but electronics from China are shotty quality at best. They are not held to the same electrical standards as many other countries, so they can also be potential fire hazards.

Yeah I know, it's only meant to use for when I want to download things for my tablet, so sparingly used.

I don't know how many rice cookers I've gone through in the past few years, but I agree completely. If it has a made in China sticker and there is an option for a Not Made in China product, I will be buying the product not from China. It is very hard to find a rice cooker not made in China.

I will be trying to get the refund, at least can get another star trek episode for 1.99.
