Personally speaking, I don't care how the games are preserved as long as they work as intended. Case in point, I have a pirated version of Carmageddon 2 and the music doesn't work because the crackers couldn't find a workaround. The GOG version, that I bought so I could have a legitimate copy without going to shady places that like to insert bitminers, has the music working and I don't need a CD.

OP, if you are sooooo concerned with having the original files, go buy the physical copy of the damn game and have fun making it work on your own.

What a useless thread, this should have been common knowledge considering the games have to be modified to get around DRM on certain games.

Okay, I just don't appreciate the way it's stated as 'a hacked game' could give some people the wrong impression that GOG alters something without the legal permission of whoever holds the rights to the game in question.

To be honest, I find it somewhat suspicious when a newly registered member starts posting stuff like that.
