Hello guys,
Are the "Divinity II : director cut" in GOG and "Divinity II :The Dragon Knight Saga" in stream two different games?
I am confused about the Divinity series, is they are contnous story like gothic series and baldur's gate.Or they are different protagonist and different time line.

Thanks for answering in advance. :)

Divinity II: Ego Draconis was the original version of Divinity II. Then they released an expansion pack called Flames of Vengeance. After that, they updated Ego Draconis and Flames of Vengeance, packaging them as a single game with an updated engine and calling it Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga. The Director's Cut is essentially a further upgraded version of Dragon Knight Saga.

In addition to what Mario said, you play different protagonists in each game. Divinity 2 is a direct sequel to DD, that takes place decades later. BD, on the other hand, is a sort of side-story that takes place a few years after DD but it's not really a sequel. It is quite related, however, and playing it will give you a better understanding of Divinity 2.

MarioFanaticXV: This; it's the same strategy that J. D. Rockefeller used to establish his monopoly of the fuel industry. And if people keep buying into it, it'll likely be just as detrimental to gaming...

Bloodygoodgames: It's the exact same strategy Wal-Mart used. Sell as much cheap crap as possible and deliberately go after your competitors and shut them down. In Wal-Mart's case, most of their 'competitors' were mom and pop stores all over the US that ended up having to close down as there was no way they could ever compete with Wal-Mart selling a product they sold at 25 percent of the cost, JUST to shut them down. As soon as all their competitors are wiped out, Wal-Mart then raises prices. The problem is, most people are idiots. And no, I'm not joking or being facetious. It's true. They'll go rushing after the "cheap price" with no thought as to why it's so cheap. Then, when they have no options left except for the mega-corporation that's the only place that sells the stuff they want, has raised prices and is treating its customers like the peons they are, then they're bitching. My prediction is Steam will end up being the same. It will destroy the video game industry as it's goal is to completely cut off people's choices. But, most people are morons. So they'll let it.
Agreed. We had two video stores in my town. One went out of business, and what do you know, suddenly the store that was left starting charging more.

grumblycakes: Has DD and BE been updated with the Anthology versions yet? I want to start downloading but I don't even know which version I'll be downloading...
avatar
Thiev: Not yet. But for now it will be a patch, you won't have to re-download the whole game.
Just found your post. Thanks Thiev :) I tried to download the game at the library today but there was an error and I didn't get to. I'll probably be able to download it sometime in the next week though *crosses fingers*.
Paid $21 for the game on the first day, because that was the only price to get three back then. I admit that I did not understand that the price will go down and feel a bit embarrassed now that the price is $13, but that's a first bundle I took part in and I value the experience. Looking forward to the next one :)

Specifically, the Director's Cut includes the Developer Mode, which allows you give your character items / stats / levels / etc, teleport to places you couldn't normally reach, spawn opponents, transform your character into any creature, etc. I'm looking forward to being able to fly around Broken Valley as a dragon early in the game.

Larian is working with Steam and Focus on a patch to add the Developer Mode to DKS (which is the only difference in the Director's Cut).

Glad to be of help.
Can anyone tell me if the Anthology Box will be sold anywhere in the US Retail.
Seemed pretty fair to me. I payed 20,99 near the beginning of the bundle and I'm fine with it; prices rise and fall, and you can't always predict where it'll go. Besides, I didn't own any of the games before so it was quite a deal on my part; always wanted to try the Divinity series out, but never saw a good opportunity.

By purchasing the bundle at whatever price, you agreed. I'm not sure why that's an issue for anyone who bought it early: that's how these things work. You never know what price they're going to be.

Honestly, Walmart's monopoly for shit goes a LOT deeper. If Steam attempted to pull most of the stuff Walmart does, then we wouldn't see EA, Ubisoft, or any other developer with their own web store selling on Steam.

Walmart does a lot to bully their distributors into selling to them at even cheaper prices (So they can afford to slash prices). You'd never see that because again, companies like EA and Ubisoft have fairly major web presences and would never give Steam a discount they wouldn't give themselves.

It's POSSIBLE, maybe, but possible in the same way that GOG has a chance of being a monopoly. With Amazon around and in the DD business, Origin that's run by a game publisher (I think it was mentioned in another topic, EA makes a decent profit without really overly pushing Origin) that can easily tell Valve off because they don't need them. And plenty of places for smaller devs (I can't see Valve being able to hurt the Humble Bundle that much) and simply other DD businesses (Gamersgate can sell Skyrim as much as they want, as far as I know Valve really doesn't see a cut of that, but I admit I can be wrong).

I know people don't like Valve's policies or whatnot, but to say that they're trying to be a monopoly...well, I honestly think they're not in a position to get to that point. Too much work, and too many ways the market can spring up and change rapidly (And unlike a brick and mortar store, it's very hard to squash everyone, or control where everyone goes).
This is FANTASTIC!

Been wanting to check out the first 2 Divinity games, and now I get the chance :D

And this is also the 3rd time for me buying Divinity II. But this version sounds fantastic with the console commands :) Kind of like modding the game, without using mods :)
I'm happy to support Larian Studios for a game that looks brilliant, but I just have to say wow, at the changes in Top Supporter prices. I've taken part in other PWYW bundles, and I've always paid way more than the average if I can afford it, but the price change between last night and this night truly amazes me. o_o Especially since I don't think the $1000 made that much of a difference since it was quite an early payment. Are such fluctuating prices normal...?

Fluctuating prices themselves are normal for bundles. Their amplitude in this bundle is not. But then again, this bundle has a ruleset that hasn't been done so far, and it's also the first PWYW bundle in this community, so it's not that surprising that this bundle behaves a bit differently than others.
