The "Pay What You Want" can be purchased from GOG.com starting now until 01:00 AM GMT on the 18th of October, 2012.

Set your own fair price for the classic Divine Divinity, where you become the chosen one, destined to fulfil an ancient prophecy and save the Seven Races of Rivellon. In this extensive, challenging, and very addictive game you will encounter many different enemies and a great variety of items, NPCs, and quests.

Beat the average price and receive your copy of Beyond Divinity, the creative continuation of the series, featuring an immersive story of the divine and the daemonic, challenging gameplay with two characters to control at the same time and a huge universe to explore and exploit.

The top 10% of our most generous users will also grant themselves an early access to the upcoming Divinity 2: Developer's Cut.The Developer's Cut, which is the ultimate edition of the game, comes with Divinity II and the expansion Divinity II: Flames of Vengeance, as well as a special developer's mode and extra goodies, will be available on PC on the 18th of October, 2012, but if you buy it here you will get to play it a day earlier than everyone else! The "Director's Cut" subtitle also means, that you'll have the unique opportunity to experience the game just as the developers did: with optional access to developer console you'll feel like the god of the realm.

But that's not all! All of the games come with an extensive amount of goodies--especially Divinity 2: Developer's Cut features a crazy amount of bonus materials (all of which you can access as soon as you finalize your purchase). To make things even more interesting, Larian Games told us that as the sales progress, they will be releasing some very special announcements and interesting videos. Heard enough? Lifthrasil: No thanks. The Divinity franchise was killed for me with the ending of Divinity 2 Ego Draconis. After that annoying "In your face - scr* you for playing our game" ending,

Thiev: That's what expansion is for. You can get your revenge ;)
Well yes. Ingame maybe and no doubt it would feel kind of good. But it wouldn't exactly be 'getting revenge' on the developers who are actually responsible for the irritating ending. I just don't like this "If you want the real ending, you have to pay us extra" attitude. So I'm not going to reward the developers for making a crappy ending by buying the extended version.

*... goes over to the other promo to buy Blackwell instead* :-)

staticblast: Blame Alquist for buying it for $1000. It pushed up the average price by a lot.
avatar
Barefoot_Monkey: By $1.51 before rounding, to be exact.
Of course the effect gets smaller as the number of purchases rises. But it must have pushed the average earlier (well, IF he/she buyed it early in the sale).

I think the price for the whole bundle will stabilize more and more over time, maybe reaching a point between $20 and $30 at the end. I'm pretty sure, GOG did some calculations or simulations before starting such a promo.
Huh I thought I had Beyond Divinity but evidently not... it was in my 'should buy' list though having got Divine Divinity free with The Witcher 2 way back when...

*Hammy death faking a gun wound in a duel*

Dammit GoG you did it again! There goes my wallet...

Now who to give my DD gift code to..... hmm.....
Thanks God, I think they made a "top" price below normal price?

But two things not really working at the moment / or have strange behavior.

beat the average = $11.7 - is it $11.07 or $11.70? :D

atm top minimum is above $16.99 - but when I manually enter $17.00 why logo of DII becomes gray after a few second?

Fenixp: Well, since I only want beyond divinity and already have divine, this PWYW doesn't quite work
I believe that it is the civic duty of all GOGlodytes to each buy 50 copies of DD at $0.01 in order to push the median Div2 price down to reasonable levels. And then hold thousands upon thousands of DD giveaways.

Lexor: Anyway it seems such fixes are expected in Indie Gala, right? There is no mention about manual fixes in text here.

xaliqen: Their unlockable goals go all the way up to 150,000 sales. I don't think they expected the average cost to rise so rapidly, but I guess we'll see whether they can reach those numbers at this cost.
That's just regulars who want D2. Within several hours, there'll be an influx of freegans which will knock down the average. And depending on how well that goes, there'll be a second wave of people beating the now-low average to get just the first two games.
EDIT: Nevermind, no longer need! Got it from Kunovski :)

17$ now? Bit much considering I already have Divine Divinity on GOG and several versions of Beyond Divinity.

I'll have to skip this, tempting though it is.

As I understand that, It's not how it works. The average price is going up by top 10% of the pledges. 0.99 pledges don't do anything to the price. It can only go up...

Oh, no, I was wrong. It does affect the Beyond Divinity price (minimal pledges) but only top10% of the donors affect the Divinity 2 price.

So let me see if I got it right...

I already own DD and BD, so I am offered D2 for (currently) $18.99 or more (instead of the "normal" price of $19.99).

I believe I shall pass.

Yep, that's what i think seeing some people pay those weird amounts...
People, start thinking a little, this is a promo-like and buying by such large amounts is punishing other buyers...
It's great to finally see Divinity II on GOG!
Nice promo, though I'm not going to buy it.
I already preordered box edition signed by the dev team directly from Larian Vault yesterday.

I wish them those 150k sold copies, although it's not very likely if the average amount will go up so fast. But in my opinion it's worth the buy, even if it would cost 30$. I've paid almost 40€ for that box edition, and I already own Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity games here on GOG.

I was wrong it seems, at least not with $16.99 :P

Yes, but as more people pay small amounts, that top 10% becomes a larger sample. The Div2 price is determined by the smallest price in that sample. (That's why it's been jumping in discrete chunks, unlike the BD price.) At this point, with only 700 sold so far, 100 lower pledges (regardless of whether they're a penny or $10) would push the price back down to probably the 14.99 mark.

yeah, just saw it too :(
Let's see if we have a minimum price above the retail price in an hour or sooner :)
