KasperHviid: Most modern games aims to satisfy the players with increasingly better graphic (requirering new hardware). They also appeal to the players greed by offering him new weapons, powerups, money and xperience points. They also gives the player a constant flow of hollow positive feedback, the most retarded called "archivements". There is also a fake sense of "progress" despite the fact that you do the same stuff over and over.
Minecraft use none of these stupid tricks. It is the first successful combination of sandbox building and survivial gameplay.
To whoever criticize Minecraft: Try playing the damn game! To start out, build a sky-high tower with a lava waterfall in hardcore mode.
I couldn't have said that better. Honestly, it is for those reasons that I have a hard time enjoying many games anymore, Minecraft has ruined them for me.
BranjoHello: No, but I did what I was told here:
https://twitter.com/notch/status/157261795139125248 ...and I do feel kind of bad, as it is a game worth my money, and I WANT to give my money for it, but not the full price.
And since I don't play pirated games anymore, abstinence from Minecraft is all I can do right now. :-/
"Also don't forget to feel bad. ;)"
