Any night action results that anybody gets get probably can't be trusted - (If you get a 'mafia' cop result first night I would expect it to be either the work of a paranoid/insane cop, so it's probably best to sit on that information until we get more results).
The old fashioned way of playing mafia is without power roles - going purely off how people react and the way that they play. I'm not very confident with it. Hence 'we're doomed we're etc.'

well... so far I am making notes on who advocates lynching the mod. So far it is you, SirPrimalform and GhostGlyph. As far as I understand how this work, there should be 3 scum in a normal game (unless this is flexible?)... coincidence?

Damnation also seems to think it isn't such a terrible idea. And to quote, "...he's the single person right now we would learn the most from by lynching, as it would give us a larger insight into how the game is constructed..."

To press for a mod lynch is to press for a no lynch. I will use the rope to find out who's behind those Foster Grant's. I'll not be voting for the mod...not now, not later.

The idea Zchinque is the least likely to be mafia is, to me, ridiculous. If the mod can be lynched, it's a sign to me that they're meant to be lynched as part of the set up. There's always a possibility that a cruel joke is being played on us, but wouldn't it be stupid if we lost because we didn't try it despite finding out that the mod could be voted for?

I like amusement parks, because there are so many fun events going on. However, I am not crazy about spinning rides; they make me so dizzy and sick with their circular motions. Ugh! No, I don't like those crazy spinning rides at all!

I would be immensely surprised if all three of the voters on anyone the first Day were all scum. It just doesn't make sense in terms of human behavior, unless scum plans ahead during a Night phase (generally, there isn't a Night 0). Far more likely is that, at most, one of those three is scum, and that Damnation is also scum (thus why he is supporting the vote, but not actually making a vote for distancing reasons). However, Damnation might possibly just think flubbucket is more scummy than Zchinque; it is really too soon to make that sort of connection yet.

However, I must say that I don't like how you are the first to bring up the composition of the scum-team. Even more, I don't like how you added that parenthetical "unless this is flexible" to it. It makes me think you are scum who is trying to convince town that you are just as ignorant as they while sending them off on a wild goose chase.

Can't say I have, mostly because I do hate Day 1, due to lack of things to work with. Yes, I know the catch 22 that if I don't post, why do I expect others to post and give us stuff to work with.

On another note, I notice that the opening flavour doesn't give us a body. Could it be that there isn't a mafia faction ingame, just quite a few of conflicting factions? That would also make a lynchable mod a possibility, though not sure which faction would benefit from the mod being lynched.

Reading the mafia wiki they say that 1/4 is scum, there is 12 here, so 3 should be scum. Not sure whether thisare rules set in stone, or if the mod can do as they like.

Truth be told the mod isn't going anywhere, is not likely to try and kill my in my sleep, so we can attempt to lynch at our leisure.

Stones? No, I don't like stones at all ... especially when thrown by small children. Now, if someone were to throw the small children, say off a boat far off at sea ... that I would like bunches and bunches. Someone please think of the drowning children!

Yeah, for a standard game, 1/4 the players are usually scum. Moderators have a lot of latitude, but this ratio of "ignorant good guys" vs. "informed bad guys" is generally seen as the most balanced, all else equal (which it almost never is). Leaving my vote on you, because as minor as it is, the way you phrased the post in question is still the scummiest thing I have seen so far this game.

Isn't the Mod most likely to be some manner of neutral role, what with the inherent advantages of knowing everyone's roles meaning otherwise the game balance would be a bit one-sided with said Mod wanting them to win?

Not that it really interferes with the rest of your point, seeing as the same advantage of knowledge means the Mod is also less likely to be one of the stabbier varieties of third party roles and thus isn't necessarily a threat.

(Again, assuming Zchinque is playing fair.)

But I agree. Lynching the mod feels too dangerous. What if with his death all his functions cease too? Who is going to write reveals and generally moderate the game if the mod is out of the game? Yes, it is possible that the mod is 'meant' to be lynched. But it might also be a trap, which leads to an instant loss for everyone. "OK, no mod, no playing. Gameover." might be one possible consequence. So I urge caution. Lynching the mod sounds like a desperate measure, so we should wait for desperate times and first try to save the town in the old-fashioned way.


But back to my question: What about LAL? So far only SPF replied (saying he didn't decide against it). What about all others? Lynch all liars? Or not?

Stance is the same as in all previous games. While I do agree with LAL in concept, each case should be analyzed on its own. Town rarely has reasons to lie, but it may have once in a blue moon. If a townie does lie though, they should do a pretty good job explaining why the chose to lie, and hope they can convince us not to lynch them.
