It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Darling_Jimmy: So, I've always been ignoring the downloader because I assume it is Windows only, but I just thought to ask; what does it offer that my download manager can't do? It looks like a lot of people depend on it for some reason. Am I missing out on something?
Well you can pause your download (don't know if it is possible if you use the browser-method), you don't have to download all Parts manually for bigger games. You are not missing anything out. I like it to queue like 5 games up and go to sleep. You could probably do this with every other downloader.

Btw I would LOVE if the downloader had the option to download the game+all bonus stuff with one click.

did you make a different folder for baldur gate? if you just selected GOG.com folder there should be a BG2 setup among the folders of your other games ( i made a painkiller folder before i started downloading)

Thanks it's all good now. I forgot to specify a location for the folder and found it elsewhere.

rocketmantom: This problem has probably come up before, but since I really don't feel like reading through 17 pages to find the solution, I'll just post again.

As of yesterday, I've been having problems with the downloader. Whenever I open it, whether by shortcut or the file, all it does is open a new bar that says "downloader" on the windows menubar at the bottom of the screen. The actual window never opens. I have tried reinstalling the downloader multiple times, but I'm still getting the same problem. Anyone have a solution?

By the way, I'm running Vista 32-Bit, if that helps.
Heres how I fixed this problem.

http://www.gog.com/en/support/support_view/_i_General_GOG_com_Downloader_issues_i_

If that doesn't help, try deleting the Adobe\AIR\ELS and com.gog.downloader.***** folder(s) located inside this folder:
for Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\ ,
for Windows Vista and 7 - C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\ .
The GOG downloader is working, per se, but it is stuck in its minimized state. I can quit it, uninstall it, reinstall it, and it will still remain minimized to the task bar when I open it.

Any ideas?
Hi,

Typo on the downloader, it should be "less than one minute remaining" as opposed to "less then..."

Don't use the GOG DL client just now, but good to know someone spotted that. I see it on the internet all the time and it's really distracting and annoying.

When you go to your account and click on any game you purchased where it says "Add to downloader" you will also see a line that says "What is GOG.com downloader?"

Click on that and a popup will open with the downloader information. Alternatively, here is a direct link to the .air file: http://www.gog.com/download/gogDownloader.air (requires Adobe AIR to be installed)

When you open the downloader and click on "options" it will tell you where the files downloaded to. Go to that directory and install your game by clicking on the file called "setup_YOURGAMENAMEHERE.exe" (usually the file with the 'CD on yellow background' icon. It will then verify the file to make sure it downloaded correctly and then install the game for you in the location you want (you can change the location of the installation via the button on the bottom left.

THe Downloader stopped working are of a sudden. Tried usual solutions, including a complete reinstall, and not good. It is not reconginzing games I have added to the download queue.
Goddamnit, GOG has GOT to get this thing fixed, or they are going have real problems when Witcher 2 comes out. No excuse for them not have fixed the bugs in this program a long time before,
.
GOG, either get the downloader fixed or allow us to use a download program such a GetRight to download your games. 2 or 3 Gig downloads using a browser, where if you lose connections you are back to squre one, is just not feasible.
