We're leaving the beta with a new site, new features and some of the best games of all time from Hasbro and Atari.

Baldur’s Gate: The Original Saga. The titles from Hasbro will be unveiled gradually in the coming weeks, and today's announcement is just a small taste of what’s to come.
I'm hoping to see the Gold Box and AD&D games. Ravenloft, Dark Sun and Al-Qadim? Yes please. :)

At first I was confused as hell, but then I finally made the connection between Wizzards of the Coast and Hasbro... Oh my GOG *_*...

I have read LONG ago about the legal bind the Infinity engine based games were in - I have NO IDEA how GOG managed to pull this off, considering the rumored unwillingness of WotC, the fact that BioWare (AFAIK) is owned by EA and the tiny detail that NO OTHER DD SITE HAS IT YET.

I mean, damn - we need to give credit where it's due.
This certainly good news. I wasn't sure anyone could get Hasbro and Atari both to the table, so kudos to GOG!
I really hope we'll get Planescape Torment. It's become impossible to find a copy without it being ridiculously overpriced to the point I've even begun considering one of my old taboo's seeing as at one point I did own a copy of the game.

The Press movie I watched on Thursday sad that you guys have the same titles in mind as we do and I'm hoping that means PS:T and I'm hoping for a bit more info about it. For now I'll make due with finishing Gabriel Knight and perhaps Age of Wonders.

Can haz Littlest Pet Shop 3: Pink Team?

Lol, I didn't realize Hasbro made any REAL videogames, but if they do, well... three cheers! Baldur's Gate is a great start. =D
I'm with snarboo. The old Gold Box games and some other SSI titles would be fantastic.

Hasbro did not make videogames, they just purchased the D&D licence.

Well, they purchased Wizards of the Coast which owns the D&D license, same end result though.

Right, point taken, lol. I should have said "I didn't realize they knew a good videogame from a hole in the ground". =P

cathal: Please please please, the original Rollercoaster Tycoon game + add ons. I still have the original discs but it doesn't work under Vista. I still play RCT 2 and 3 but the first is the best. I think the first in this series would definitely sell as it's still one of the best management games ever made. it's a fun topic but the game mechanics are un-rivalled by anything else. It just works.
Please!
Thank you.
I didn't really like RCT3 so here's hoping I will be able to play the originals again!
Welcome Hasbro. Thanks for not letting legalities get in the way of great gaming. :)
Regarding the Gold Box engine and Dark Sun engine games: Hasbro/Atari don't own the rights to any of those. Everthing published by SSI passed on to Ubisoft, which has chosen to retire the brand. One can only hope the GOG team can somehow pry them loose!
RCT3 is the best and a blast to play so much better than the origional. Add in Splash and Wild and you have an excellent sim of an amusement partk. The graphics are 100x better than the origional as well. Don't listen to these nostalgic nerds RCT3 is the BEST evah.

I didn't like RCT3 - the interface wasn't great; it still felt designed with the isometric titles in mind. RCT2 was an incredibly flexible simulation - multi-height props etc. I also have to admit to loving the artwork in RCT and RCT2 (although I stand by my view that graphics don't make the game).

However, as I have boxed copies of them and they still work on modern systems just fine, I wouldn't pick any of them up - I'd much rather have an original box than a download...

This depends on licence agreement between TSR and SSI.
I have noticed that in US law in some cases after licence expires, all rights are coming back to the copyright holder. Don't know why is that, because it's slighty different than in Polish law.
So I'd bet that his is the case of agreement. And it is possible, that after D&D licence for SSI expired, all rights went to TSR/WOTC/Hasbro.
