Crassmaster: Uhhh...those have been on sale on GG since Wednesday, dude. :)

You mean the 50% blue coins cash back deal? Oops, wasn't aware of that.
Was anyone able to grab ahold of setup.exe for Mass Effect 2 during installation? This one defeats me.
C'mon Gamersgate, I already had to type enough codes and logins for this game. Don't make me hang on to your obnoxious authenticator that doesn't work from read-only media.

I did but it took me several tries. I noticed a little slowdown the moment I was able to copy the file before it got renamed. Maybe it could work if you have other processes running at the same time.
I'm pretty sure you can register you serial for mass effect 2 at the EA Store and get the digital version from them. Their installer should be the same but you will need the EA Downloader to get it and backup it after install.

They re-added the ability to pay with Paypal for EA games at the same time as these were added to the sale last week. My guess...the usual method of copying the installer files won't work due to an agreement with EA to get Paypal back as a payment choice.

The provision of PayPal as a payment option has nothing to do with publishers. It's only removed (according to conversations I've had with GamersGate on the subject) when PayPal have flagged certain items high risk in terms of fraud. And for what it's worth, I've always been able to purchase EA games (from the .co.uk site) with PayPal. I've only ever had problems with some Ubisoft titles and Blue Coins -- all of which are currently flagged as high risk items.
As for the ability to snag the unencrypted setup file, there have always been some games with which it doesn't work. It all depends on when the process that launches the setup dialog box is considered to have ended. With some games, that doesn't end until the installation process has finished, with others, it ends the second the set up dialog box is displayed.
The latter will always cause you difficulties when trying to copy the setup file.
Second week of Gamersgate summer sale:
50% - Unreal COmplete Pack; Victoria Complete; Vizati
60% - Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY; Dark Sector
66% - Borderlands
75% - Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena; Fort Zombie; Frontline: Fuels of War; Necrovision + Lost COmpany; Painkiller Pandemonium; Red Faction Guerilla; Saints Row 2; Unreal TOurnament 3 Black
To all those interested in buying Borderlands, I remember there was some issues with DLCs using the Gamersgate version. I don't now if the problem has been fixed so if you plan to buy Borderlands ask Gamersgate first.
I have the 360 version of Batman: AA, and it's mint. If you can look past GfWL, it's an excellent game.
Looks like some good sales, but I will wait to see what GOG has this week before pulling any cash out for a transaction.

Not bad.
Btw UT3 can be registered on Steam.
Arkham Asylum was the best game I played last year. The combat is magic - it's not a simple button mash, but requires precision.
For Borderlands, Gamersgate doesn't have Secret Armory. Only Steam does. This means that you won't be able to play the only DLC (from what I hear) worth playing. I'm unsure if retail has Secret Armory, but it wasn't on eBay last time I checked, and it's not on Amazon either even as I'm typing this.
Still, I'd recommend getting Borderlands on Gamersgate if you have no intention of getting Secret Armory.

Sounds like you got lucky, but you did give me an idea that worked. Thank you.
Off the top of my head:
Red Faction Guerilla: Can register with Impulse
Saints Row 2: Steam
UT3: Steam

GamersGate Borderlands page says: "Won't work with any Borderlands DLC!!!" :P
None of the DLC will work with GamersGate's version of Borderlands. As stated in red on the product page: Won't work with any Borderlands DLC!!!
So if you want to play Borderlands with DLC, you'll have to buy it elsewhere unfortunately. GamersGate had removed Borderlands from sale due to not having the DLC. But it seems they were not successful in getting 2K to supply versions that would work with their copy of the game =(
As for Saints Row 2, I highly recommend the GamersGate version over the Steam one. Don't register it to Steam either. In my experience, the Steam version suffered from terrible frame rate problems when in vehicles. The GamersGate version did not suffer from this at all.
I think (in my case) the reason for this is due to data transfer rates when the game is streaming content from the hard drive. With the GamersGate version I could install it on my smaller drive that has a pretty high transfer rate. But with the Steam version, it has to be installed wherever Steam is (unless you want mess around with junctions which may or may not work), and for me, that's a drive on which the transfer rate obviously isn't fast enough for the game.
