junker154: Way to derail a thread :P

Well I am still looking for a fix, can't find much. Might contact GoG support again.
They're a bit swamped still, but they've just brought on a new person to help handle the workload, so they will hopefully get caught back up before too much longer.
Thank you very much, nice that someone from the staff is communitcating with the community. I will try to contact it and google a about this issue.

I love you guys.

junker154: snip
May be a bit of a hassle, but on a Win7 machine I had when I tried to run an older game, and the colors were all screwed up, but if you exited Explorer and then ran the game it fixed it.

StingingVelvet: PC gaming bro, it's a bitch.

I can't get Fallout 2 to stop making rainbow colors no matter what I do with my current laptop. I got it working fine on my desktop, just not my laptop. Pain in the ass, but that's PC gaming... a pain in the ass.
The old DirectDraw problem you mean? That is very easily fixable you know.

I hear you on that. I got Invictus: In the Shadow of Olympus to work perfectly in WINE on my 64-bit Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro...but for some reason it just balks when I try to run it on my 32-bit Core Duo MacBook, under the same settings, graphics chip, and operating system. Weird.

The fixes that usually work don't work on my laptop. Fun!
I've never had any problems with GOG games (except for Dungeon Keeper 2...). But i'm a (still) proud owner of Windows XP 32 bit, so... :D

ps. community patch for Fallout 2 fixes most of thep roblems with graphics.

Which problem you had with Dungeon Keeper? I hope it is not the resolution one
Mostly random crashes....
Many of my GOG DosBox games crash in a spectacular way in my laptop. They not only crash, also when that happens the video configuration of my system, not only the resolution, it also change the screen from vertical to horizontal, it´s so amazing, people (my friends) don´t use to believe this, I must take them to my house to let them see it by his own eyes.

Just minimize the game, open up task manager, and kill explorer, then alt+tab back to the game and see if the colors are correct. Or kill explorer the same before opening the game, and use task manager to start the game.

When I said the fixes that usually work I meant the ones you know about.

Or you can disable desktop composition and visual themes in compatibility tab...

Nope, that isn't a sure way, you can do that and the color problem can still persist, I've tried, getting rid of explorer is only way to completely get rid of it.

Reinstalled fallout now and remembered why I gave up - every few seconds screen would flicker and it would turn black, and that fog could be only removed with moving mouse around. No point doing it as it happens again in few seconds... -.- Any solutions for this issue?
