I'm about to start my 2nd playthrough. Can anyone recommend some slower leveling mod that wouldn't break anything? I was level 30 before i even finished half of quests.
Sounds like you were wandering around killing everything you saw. I did virtually every quest in my first playthough and only hit 30 by the endgame section at the dam
Yes westeland becomes a place devoid of life after i'm done with it. That's why it took me so long to finish my 1st playtrough. Nevertheless there are a lot of people that complain about leveling in new vegas being way too fast.
I'm still on my first play through. I tend to play through these games using a character type or personality. I screwed up naming my guy so he's "The Courier". I've been going through the game playing a mildly "good guy" game, but not a saint. He simply does what he can to help facilitate his goal of revenge. I kind of envision him as a Clint Eastwood/Toshiro Mifune type character. He's not overtly good, and has no problem blowing someone's brains out to solve a problem but if he see's a problem he can't help but intervene. Making allies of the NCR is a good way to make the wasteland easier, but now I've got the idea of taking over the Strip to consider...He's also had a problem with the Legion since stumbling into Nipton. That kind of thing changes a man.

One thing I've found, is every time I'm in Vegas I end up not playing much. I think there's something about the Strip that I subconsciously just do not like. Right now I'm trying to do the White Glove Society, and I find I have little desire to play. I could just abandon the quest for now...but I'm already in there as it is. :(

Pick a level rate you would like from this mod
You can also increase the level cap with this

Thanks
Which level rate would you recommend? I'm leaning towards 2.0 but don't know if it isn't too slow.
I'm not touching level cap though. Game is balanced fine as it is.

I use the x2.0 myself. TBH there is really no too slow in the game as everything scales with you though not as obviously as Fallout 3 did.

I included the level cap mod because as you probably noticed there is no way to get all the perks in 30 levels so some people like to go up to 45 to get all but one. If you want to stay at the level 30 cap but want more perks you can also use the perk every level mod.
Oh cool, there's a lightsaber mod, instant download:

How easy is it to mod custom stuff into Fallout NV's engine as compared to the horror that is Dragon Age?

A lot easier. Just make sure you have Fallout Mod Manager installed and it can handle most of the load order for you. You should also create a merged patch using FNVEdit to cut down on the chances of conflicts.

No, I mean to make them not use them :P

Again much easier. The GECK was released on day one with the game and it's largely the same as the one modders have been using for years with Fallout 3 hence things are getting ported over extremely quickly. If you ever need help using it the Nexus forums are full of modders discussing projects.
Then x2.0 it is. Thank you again.
I think i'll pass on perk every level mod. I like that i have to make choices which perk to pick up for my character. Besides i'm used to Fallout 2 perk progression system so no worries.

Oh cool, I'll try modding stuff in, if I have the free time and when I feel like it. Thanks.
Just did Veronica's companion quest for the first time and my God was it awesome. Great writing, great performances and the ending, the way I did it, was really special. If you never did her quest load up that save file and get crackin'.
Anyone using twitter seen Chris Avellone's profile?
