Sorry I haven't been active a lot lately. At this point I would vote whatever the majority votes, because my top two suspects (pina and lifthrasil) got 1 vote in total and won't get lynched.

Yes. It was the claiming and counterclaiming with flubby quite at the beginning of the thread that made you both suspicious. Plus you fishing for the alien/human status of all others (Post 29). As I said, it wasn't enough to give you top suspicious status, but it struck me as odd behaviour.

But then again N0x0ss has also claimed several things that sometimes even were contradictory. And he was rolefishing as well. ... So the question is if I believe you that forgetting Quad was an oversight. If I accept that it was, then you drop in suspicioun level below your 'competitors' for the top ranking. I'll have to think on that. And sleep. It's not good to make decisions when tired.

I'm gonna try and convince you I'm NOT mafia.
Until now, I've been contradicting myself, saying one thing, then the opposite just a few posts later, and when confronted about it, I say I wanted to study people's reaction all along. I can see why I can be the favorite suspect.

Ok, so first of all, everything I said during this game were affirmations and accusations like for instance :"All townies are Aliens", and then several minutes later :"No townie is alien" or something to the like of this...
I've been making assumptions, saying "I Believe might be townie" and after a while saying I believed all along he was Mafia (Even though I explained why).
I however never tried to divert the trend of the mafia game by proposing something that could jeopardize the townie integrity, like for instance :"Hey guys, let's focus on the 2 main suspects instead of accusing each-others".
I've been trying to get people to talk from the beginning, I've been trying to shake the bush so that the grasshoppers (Mafia goons) would get out and appear in front of us.

I recognize I've been clumsy, but what was the point of all my doing if I were mafia ?
Some of you said I tried to confuse people, when I really don't see how I can confuse anybody with what I did, I just diverted the attention to myself and raised suspicion about me being mafia.
What I mean to say, is that, I couldn't have any benefit as a mafia in doing what I did, and even if some of you think I did more harm then good, I personally think I did everything in my power to acquire precious data, that would help us, if not now, at least in the next days (with or without my lynching), and I've been at least more useful then the lurking guys.

I may be mafia indeed, but I believe that it's much more likely that the people who have been keeping quiet, waiting for the night phase are Mafia.
Some of you may say that It was my strategy all along, to over-act and act suspicious, kind-of a win-or-lose gamble to see if I survive or I get lynched as a mafia, but If I were mafia, I'd certainly never (Or at least not on the very first day when there's basicaly no suspects) try to pull something as risky as this.

OK. Last day. Some of us have to switch. How about we try to get a last minute train on P1na? I don't buy his 'I want to save the day in the last minute' claim. That looks more like 'I'll bide my time and if a townie is close to lynch I'll finish him off. And if a mafia is leading the stack, then I'll withhold my vote so that we get a no-lynch.' - Saving the day indeed. But for the scum side, not for town. So I am very convinced by now that P1na is mafia. But I can't lynch him alone.

I'm not convinced that N0x0ss is scum, though I'm not sure if his playstyle will benefit town. While I would be a bit more lenient to a new player, this isn't his first mafia game here as I recall. Reluctant to lynch him.
I'd rather not lynch QuadrAlien because I don't like lynching replacements on the same day as they join the game. I'd prefer to have them play a bit, and considering that my vote on him is mostly due to Pazzer being Pazzer, not sure what to make of QuadrAlien yet.
That leaves another newbie to the GOG mafia games, CSPVG. He did make two things to raise flags, the nolynch vote early on and his quite ill-thought suggestion to concentrate discussion on two people only. Those two could be seen as newbie mistakes, but he did mention he played mafia before.

All 3 of those I'll be reluctant to lynch, but lynching someone is preffered to no-lynch. Will see if my vote needs to be changed, and will move it if needed.

Lifthrasil-Again, yes I did forget to mention QuadrAlien. This, as I have stressed before, was a mistake. It was before nine in the morning when I made that post, and I'd just woken up. I should have thought about it a little more, instead I just went ahead and posted.

I also do not see what I did as role fishing. I merely asked the group to contributed its thoughts on whether or not they felt their were they stood on whether or not we had an aliens vs. aliens game. I didn't ask them to say,"I'm a townie/special role x." I merely asked their opinion on a point of interest.

JMich-I will not excuse my idea, but only reiterate that I now see how silly it is.

As to my no lynch vote at the beginning of the game, I should explain. I voted no lynch early on for two reasons: 1) I do not like the RVS, and mostly begin games by voting no lynch. Once conversation has occurred, and I feel confident enough to, I make a vote. 2) I haven't played mafia on the gog forum before, so I thought it best to sit back and observe before I jumped in. You all seemed nice enough, though, and quite humorous, so I threw my hat into the ring quite early, and voted P1na.

Finally, I did mention I had played mafia before. This, however, is my first game in what must be almost two years. So I may be a little rusty.

Here's my question though. Why vote nolynch instead of simply not vote? Voting for nolynch does mean (for me at least) that you believe not lynching anyone is the proper course of action, while not voting anyone means (again, for me) that you don't have anyone to vote for atm.

Assume a game where everyone happens to post at the same time, or at least before they've seen the others' posts. If they start by "Hello everyone, let's see what this game is like. Vote nolynch" the day will end almost immediately. If they start with "Hello everyone, let's see what this game is like." the day proceeds normally. So why vote nolynch at all?

Of course when looked at like in the hypothetical situation that you pose, it seems quite easy to assume that I shouldn't have voted at all. To answer your question though: I wasn't sure how long I could hang back before someone would start to view my actions as suspicious. Though I had looked through a bit of the thread for game #15, I didn't know how games operated on here.

Having said this, in hindsight, I can see how it makes me look suspicious. It's usually a quirk of my play, but at the time Lifthrasil and TwisterBE were both voting for a no lynch. I voted because I thought that by doing so, I was at least participating in the game, and getting back into it( remember, I said that I hadn't played or almost two years). It seemed like an innocuous way to test the waters.

Well, to be honest I made the same error. Initially I thought that having no valid suspect it would be best to avoid lynching a townie (which statistically speaking is more likely than lynching a mafia, if you don't have any data). After having the drawbacks of a no-lynch explained to me I saw the error in my thinking and started voting. So voting no-lynch seems to be a typical noob-error.

Well, this said to get things moving someone has to switch votes. I will surely be berated for switching back again, but I am uncomfortable with all three main subjects by now, for similar reasons as you, JMich. So I'll try to start a train on P1na. Already voted for him before and the reasons have not changed: lurking, joking instead of contributing, intentionally holding back to deal the killing blow when it suits him (which only makes sense if he has additional information. I.e. if he is mafia). So:

(again). If you are reluctant to lynch any of the three scoreboard-leaders, then please switch as well JMich. P1na is the only one where I am quite confident that he is intentionally playing in a non-town friendly way. So for me he is very likely to be scum. If you switch and all three scoreboardleaders follow, which would be in their interest, we already have him at 5. Higher than any of the current suspects.
