KneeTheCap: They all are. I still don't understand why it's okay to sell M-rated games that has violence, dismemberment and gore, but it's an absolute no-no to sell games that shows sex. What the hell, really?
Maybe it's because most of the audience for games about killing and dismembering don't want to go killing and dismembering in real life? :p

KneeTheCap: Average games is what, 30+ years now? Do we still see video games as kid entertainment, where if you see a nipple, run for the hills, burn all copies of video games you can find and sue the makers ?
Oh well no hope of Stroker resurfacing any time soon then...

I was given a copy for my C64 in my teens in the late 80s/early 90s.

Mind you could be a good idea for Kickstarter?

what an... amazing... idea.... for a game...
Always laugh at this even back in the days of the spectrum and sam fox strip poker where there was shouts about that even though you could not really see much due to the spectrum colour system.

I have been playing far cry 3 and the amount of death you can cause is quite graphic but hell thats ok but a nipple showing thats bad.

Wonder if valve will ever grow up and relise that most of us are adults and things like that dont bother us.

Ian: i am not asking for censorship, lets be honest sex is part of life and why not explore it in games. Hell knows in this country, we need to relax about it.

*I do have 1 exception - correct me if i am wrong, but a few years ago, there was a game about rape - i cannot understand any justification for that in a game.

I am not surprised by Valve, but instead of censorship perhaps make a mature area ?
Why would you say that is a big no no but slaughtering masses of innocent people in GTA is fine? Hell with games like Skyrim people actually want to be able to slaughter the children.

lol, maybe we should bring in that old "guns are a human right" thing -issue in here as well!

I think we can agree that most american comp./org are owned by elderly men, who grew with pretty strict stigma about sex/nudity, and slacked gun control. In secret clubs they pests younger girls just to take back what they missed, while shooting in the back yard.

Though, there are exceptions, and also world wide....

Just look at FB's ban of a woman, who breast fed her kid and uploaded a picture of it... it's laughable!

When it comes to games, Germany (?) censored Fallout and other games - I'm mostly ok with that, but at the same time it cripples a game. Now, Manslaughter and other rape games should not be allow to be published AT ALL.

Doom, Duke3D and Quarantine (older carmageddon) was so pixeled and with so bad humor it was actually funny, and I don't think anyone took it seriously. Skyrim, GTA, and other newer games does make it much more difficult to be liberal about violence in games, they do influence a certain gamer, to some point.

My only wish is that Lula and Larry makes a "come-back"! ;D

Hi, GTA is something I have never played, however I am not saying it is ok to slaughter loads of innocent people. Neither slaughter or rape are acceptable to me, but in the real world, rape is more common than total mass slaughter. Yes there have been incidents of mass killing recently, and I cannot describe how I feel about that.

Back to gaming - the majority of people who play games can tell the difference between reality and the game world. I am playing Crysis at the min, and there is not a chance in hell I would ever act on what I am playing. Rape is a hate crime, directed to 1 person. I can enjoy playing Crysis, but I cannot understand how I would get pleasure from playing a game about rape.

Having said all that, who am I to censor - I am not even calling for censorship - I like everyone else have the choice to not play a game, I find offensive.

sheepdragon: It's fucking retarded. Murder, destruction and mayhem is more accepted than the human body and procreation.

Krypsyn: Hey now, while I don't disagree, we have a valid excuse. We are a country founded in decent part by religious zealots and criminals; that's why you guys kicked us out of Europe, right?! What do ya expect? ;)

Anyway, yeah, this is old news. Anything else I could say on topic about US laws has already been said a few times.
Af far as a I know there are no laws involved in this case at all. AFAIK actually there are no laws on content in the US at all, except FCC regulations on TV.
I asked before, but it kinda went unnoticed.

Would gog sell games that has strong sexual content (perhaps raunchier than Witcher 2) ?

Would GOG sell "Seduce Me" (this is not the point whether the game is good or not in your opinion, but about the fact that would gog even sell it) ?

Well, they ARE selling Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy which currently holds an AO rating.

No idea. It's significantly more erotic than games like Indigo Prophecy. I don't know their policies on those kinds of things.
