Shalgroth: The two weapon system is absolute balls.

One of the fun things about DN3D were the zany weapons and the fact that you could carry them all with you for variation and laughs. The two weapon system does not suit the game.

Duke is supposed to be over the top, sci fi, misogynistic, popcorn action gaming. Why incorporate something done by previous developers to eschew a sense of realism?

Just seems they slapped together bits and pieces, some under cooked and others over done. The demo was lacklustre, and extremely boring. As far as hype spoiling it for me, I for one didn't follow any of the hype. Duke Nukem Forever was dead to me a long time ago, wish it had been left that way.
hahaha, lol at the people low rating your post, Shalgroth. Talk about people not being able to bear that somebody just express his point of view... That's why there shouldn't be a rep system on GOG: it's so easily used out of purpose that it doesn't mean anything anymore.
low rated
Why is Shalgroth downrated? +1 to remedy this.

Not people, there's only one indignant wanker on these forums that created alts for this very purpose. ;)

I actually rated you up....not down.

(If you want I can have some of my "friends" also rate you up.)

Actually the rep system would be fine if you saw in every post who + and - repped it. Something like Facebook's likes. Then we could see if anybody stays such a hero if his/her actions are transparent. Any accounts created just for rep griefing could be banned immediately and the + and - reps they gave will disappear.

Rep system stays, griefing becomes harder and voila, it's done.

Agreed.
I played the demo and I like it. The second level was difficult but I suck at fps so that's to be expected. I also played Duke 3D when it came out. It's easy to focus on the negatives but approach it with an open mind and maybe you'll enjoy it if you let yourself.
After letting the demo settle a bit and accepting some of the changes, it's more fun to replay, with the exception of the two-weapon limit. They better let you carry three - i don't mind some levels limiting you to just two but when you have 8 weapons lying around the map, and only 2 can be carried, that's just teasing ...

In Duke 3D, finding a new weapon was an experience - you could suddenly freeze enemies! Wahey! Here they seem to just be growing out of the ground everywhere.
Where's the bottle of 'Roids?

Kabuto: Where's the bottle of 'Roids?
They nerfed it - you can no longer activate and deactivate it, it has become a bottle of beer, and your vision goes blurry (which makes it pretty pointless unless you're running away).

I take back part of what I said then...someone better add roids back in STAT.

Navagon: I think I can probably guess the content without having seen it. Same old story, Bansama?
In this case it is definitely 2K who are restricting access to the demo. Steam's IP blocking is not being used, so this time, Valve are in the clear. So it's not entirely the same story.

I'm just hoping the same is true for the actual release of the full game.

Time will tell, I suppose. I'd love to know the real reason behind why the PC gets shafted in Japan. But two console powerhouse companies and many publishers that develop (more or less) exclusively for consoles probably has a lot to do with it. I bet a lot of money is changing hands to make sure some things aren't released there.

That's probably not happening. It's probably got to do with the fact excessive alcohol drinking is okay according to commercials but the media will go crazy about the steroids and their effects, the whole it ruined sports nonsense added in as well.

The solution: Bring on some Vitamin X :P

I meant as a community mod of course. :)
