I bought Duke Nukem 3d years ago and no longer have the CD BUT, I think it's a great game - I see that Redneck Rampage is here, which uses the same engine - how about putting Duke Nukem 3d up ?
Uncensored please :-)

Nobody knows. There's a game wishlist, though.... useless topic is useless :)
Why would it need to be here if you can simply buy it from 3DRealms?
For as far as I know GOG is for lost games, games that aren't sold anymore.
Yes theres no real incentive for 3DRealms to put it up here. You can buy the original disc straight from 3DRealms for only $10.
muaddib: Well that's certainly desirable (rescuing 'lost' games), but it's Good Old Games, not Good Lost Games. A game being available elsewhere shouldn't preclude it from being available here as well.
In fact I can count a good half-dozen games in the catalogue that I know I could find in a local game store (but I would much rather spend my money here to get a version free of DRM).

Yeah indeed but I think that most developers will just stick to one publisher. I'm just saying that they're selling the games themselves (no DRM or anything), and I don't think that'll change anytime soon. I guess there's not really a reason why it should. It's available DRM free on the site of the original developer so I guess it couldn't be stationed anywhere better :-)

A couple of the games on here are available on other download services... but i still like having choices and options of where to pick them up.
If you ever find the original disk then check out the Duke3d High Resolution Pack:
http://hrp.duke4.net/index.php
Makes it all look nice and spiffy... and even gives real 3d babys to shake it.
(and if you have DOom, Heretic or Hexen then search for Doomsday Engine and play them in spiffy 2d or 3d as well. )
Duke Nukem 3D is on XBLA...

Yeah, playing a FPS with a pad. How cool is that? :D
Playing Duke 3D without possibilities of modding, how cool is that? :D

Yes but I assume the dev/publishers pay something to use GOG's services. Why would 3DR pay someone to host Duke3D when they are already doing it themselves for free?

I honestly don't like those games that way. The Unreal patch to make it look great on newer pc's is nice because Unreal was a graphical beauty years ago. It might sound strange, but to me Duke, Doom, Hexen etc. look ugly when they look so good. It's just way more fun playing it but without any graphical changes.
If I want Duke3D to look like newer games I'll just play Duke Nukem Forever when it comes out ;-)

8 person multiplayer, plus achievements, the ability to record game play within the game and to rewind it and start playing from a previous point, that's all really fantastic. Not to mention it's supported and has some exclusive bonus content (i.e. Duke Nukem 4ever screens).
I know how usually PC has the superior version of everything, but sometimes it's just fun to roll up to a simple game on the console. Geometry wars is far too simple to be a PC title, sure if they allowed you to create your own enemies, that'd be cool, or make your own ship too, but the game itself is just blasting apart other little shapes.
I couldn't play Doom on PC, I don't know why, I just couldn't stand it. But on a console, using a controller, I was fine.
I play Unreal Tournament III, Quake Wars: Enemy Territory, and CoD4 (as well as my GoG.com games) all on PC. But there are some titles that for me, just work far better as a console title. Plus the availability of Duke on the XBLA is pretty nice, if you have an Xbox 360. I mean, shipping and handling is gone, so is a delivery date. And if you don't want to buy it this week, it'll still be available next week.
I understand but well... Duke 3D is Duke 3D I could not imagine it on an other "console" than PC. Don't understand you about Doom, really :>
The problem with the pad is that a lot of the enjoyable glitches such as getting behind the scenery and speed jet pack jumping just won't be possible as you need the turning speed of the mouse and pressing opposite directions on the keyboard to get them to work.
Death match in Duke 3D really is the funniest thing ever when everyone is glitching around the map shooting each other with the flukiest shots ever. Someone glitching into a rocket that you've aimed at someone else was hilarious back in the day.

It worked just fine on the N64, albeit censored. The active MP community on XBLA is reason enough. Co-op and deathmatch. The PC version has no working online tool, as Dukonnector is dead and DukesterX is taking far too long to come up with something workable.
