Cormoran: I love how the PC Gamer article describes making a half arsed game with waaaaaaay to many copy pasted levels a "personal story" that "proved too great a shift for some fans". Yeah, that was obviously the issue everybody had with it...
Yeah, that made me laugh out loud as well.

Cormoran: I stopped reading after that, first paragraph in and it already seems like less of an article and more of a paid advertisement. If I even bother with this after the mess that was DA2 it'll be with a pirated copy. I won't be burned again by Bioware.
Actually, it's worth reading the article. Some good statements in there by Darrah, from admitting errors**, to clarifying what type of game they're going for, to a little more insight into their intentions with 'romance'.

**One quote I particularly like is this (in reference to Awakening):

...the zombie warden was just a stupid decision on our part I’d say. We should have just not let you. We decided, if you want to play awakening we should let you use your warden. Well what if they’re dead? We’ll let you bring them back to life. We should just not have that.

bela555: btw which dragon age is better?
I haven't played DA2 because I found Origins hugely underwhelming. Whereas Mass Effect 1 came across as a reasonably well-thought-out world where a game was then set, Dragon Age felt like a game was made and then a world dumped in as kind of an afterthought. Granted, I fully admit that some games have spectacularly got away with dumping a background into gameplay, but when you are trying to create a fleshed-out world for people to explore and enjoy, I'm not convinced that's the way to go.

Good combat mechanics could excuse the lack of creativity to some degree, but I'm afraid you'll have to do with functional but uninspired mediocrity. Additionally, Origins is a Fucking Long Game, to the point of feeling pathetically dragged-out and overstaying its welcome as far as I'm concerned. I'm not going to say that it's a bad game per se, but it simply gave me nothing that I really remember enjoying, either.
I can't believe anyone that played DA2 would be willing to buy DA3. That stuns me.

Plus, EA's response to complaints hasn't been the best, either. Heck, read the interview: they are *STILL* passing some of the blame for their own blunders onto fans.

I won't give them a penny.

LOL!!! If you thought DA:O was half-assed, I'm really glad for your own sake that you didn't play DA2. It was like quarter-assed. For one thing, they took 5 or so maps and just randomly reconstructed them throughout the game. There is more scenery in two hours of Skyrim than DA2 had in total.

It's a triple-A game, so of course it did. Several, it seems.
I am mixed about 3. Loved the 1st game hated the 2nd so not sure about 3rd. Even the price is way higher than before £60 for deluxe edition what for a pc game bah.

It did have a pretty good trailer if I remember correctly (actually all of the recent Bioware Games have had pretty decent trailers).
But since the game is using the Frostbite 2.5 - 3.0 engine I hope none of the Battlefield 4 problems hit this game
