Magnus: I'd like to point out that the DOSBox for Ishar is also setup incorrectly and will not run the game.

garciafigueres: Well, in my case it runs flawlessly. ;-)
Maybe DotEmu can't match gog's catalog or community, but the fact that a new retrogaming site is being born should be enough for us to be happy.
I agree Nicky Boom isn't exactly an AAA game, but the Silmarils games are interesting enough to me: the 6 first games I purchased were Crystals of Arborea, Targhan, Colorado, Madshow, Boston Bomb Club and Metal Mutant, way back in 1991 (nostalgia tear rolling down my cheek, sniff...).
I hope they keep on growing, because it would be nice for us customers. The more retrogaming sites we get, the better.

I definetly agree with you "garciafigueres".
That's the right spirit!
Cheers

MegaRace 1 for 3.90€

taczillabr: MegaRace 1 for 3.90€

True and good.
But I never liked driving games :(
So I think this time I'll pass.
No problems though.
What's important (and gooood) is that dotemu is keeping releasing OLD games.
And I repeat: OLD games.
And I repeat: is good.
Till next time... cheers :)

habit79 , For real I didn't bought anything from their store, as all titles that I want are already on GOG. Let's compare the prices:
GOG: total is 11.98 USD = 9.43 EUR
MegaRace 1+2 5.99 USD
MegaRace 3 5.99 USD
DotEmu: total is 11.70 EUR = 14.85 USD
MegaRace 1 3.90 EUR
MegaRace 2 3.90 EUR
MegaRace 3 3.90 EUR
Guess it is clear which store you should buy from, huh? ;)

It is good to have another drm-free shop, so I'm really happy to see dotemu on the stage. But it definitly needs a community and a more transparent support.
As example I am interested in both Syberias, which would actually be cheaper from dotemu. But when I look on the Syberia announcement page (Syberia week), the link for Syberia 2 is since the start still broken. Here on Gog I have a forum for every game and if there are problems I can see they try to fix it really fast. For this I will definitly pay a little bit more. But dotemu just started, I think we should give them a little bit time and hope for further improvements in the future.

Not quite that clear actually. If you want the first 2 games then GoG is clearly better, but if you only want the third, then DotEmu is.
Furthermore, for those of us who live in the Euro-area (and whose banks sometimes charge a steep fee for purchases made in $) a Euro-based store is quite welcome.

But then there are the Siberia titles that are cheaper. As always, it's best to shop around.
Yeah I know that is better for people based in Europe. In my case, I pay bank taxes in both ways, both for euros and usd.
MegaRace was just an example, because it was the last game they added. And I prefer to buy the series, not just 1 or 2. ;)

Navagon: But then there are the Siberia titles that are cheaper. As always, it's best to shop around.

I'm only interested in the Ishar series and Syberia series.
And even if it would be cheaper on DotEmu, I still would buy both series from GOG for all the support, community, and its international recognition by today.
Commandos 1 and 2 got added, for EUR 5.99 each.
Commandos' "Trilogy" is now complete there,
and it's Adventure's Week now: Amerzone, Still Life and others will be added.
First discount ever of this site? "This week, Silmarils Collection and Gobliiins Trilogy are on sale with 30% off."

There's something juvenile about that sites design. DotEmu- like DUPLO, if anyone recalls, to GoodOldGames LEGO. Doubtful it is that simple, but they certainly lack a community over there. Will check out what they offer for free.
Don't mind the Euro at all, expected it on this site. Anyone speaking out against the EU and the currency reminds me of that new Pope, damn I don't even know his name but he was denouncing the euro like a rabid dog back when they were putting it together. And he's creepy. He ain't no Karol.
