If it's a Steam-only game, yes, makes the whole "you-think-you-own-it-but-you-just-rent-it" thing more bearable. ^_^

Most of the time, yes, I wait for sale, simply because my backlog is so huge that I'd be stupid to pay full price for a game that will maybe have DLCs (wait for the GOTY) and/or I won't play right away.

The exception recently being The Witcher 2, LOTRO's extensions and GW2, for obvious reasons ^_^
If I'm really interested in a game I'll usually just buy it full-price. Sales are when I pick up games that I hadn't heard of prior or only had a passing interest in.
If I want the game, then I don't wait unless I don't have the time or money at the moment, I'll get a game on sitting on the fence or not sure about on a sale though.

Fictionvision: I do for most games now. Especially for "AAA" titles that will have lots of DLC and eventually a GOTY/Complete Edition.
This. Well, I don't bother looking at most games until their "complete" edition is out, otherwise I feel like I'm not getting a full game. I think I'd more readily pay full price if I knew I'd be getting a complete product.
Depends. If we're talkin' Steam then generally, yes, with a few exceptions for games I'm especially hyped for.

For GOG, sales tend to be more of a way of me going "Oh, this looks cool" and picking up a game I wouldn't necessarily have bought otherwise. For the most part prices are low enough by default on GOG, that I don't feel like I need to wait for a sale before buying if it's something I really want.

There was an emergency, "I have to play Outcast and Silver before time disappears", but for the most part, I feel like it's more practical to wait. It usually gets to the point that there is just so much in the backlog that by the time you finish, you probably will have had the chance to pick up whatever games in whichever promo.
I used to wait untill games hit the bargain bin before byuing them. Mostly because I didn't want to be a paid beta tester, so I waited until the games were properly patched. Why pay full price for an incomplete product when you can get the complete product for 1/3 of the price?
Of course that was in the pre draconian DRM times, when I still bought new games.

On GOG I don't wait for sales, but I take the opportunity to buy games on sale if they are on my chronological play list.
Just a little while ago I would have said I always wait for sales. But now I have to say almost always, because I bought FTL on release. Don't regret it, but now that I've played it I think I could have waited a while longer. So I probably won't buy without a sale again.
If something is unexpected and cheap, instabuy, like I did with Guilty Gear and Geneforge. For things I can wait for, like the D&D titles, I tend to wait for a good sale.

Same on steam, unless it is something I really, really want or was waiting for, like Dark Souls, or Xcom.
I usually wait for sales, unless I need to play a game so bad.
Last full price game I bought was Portal 2 on steam.
I used to spend a lot on games, but these days I'm more price-conscious. In the past I've simply blown too much on titles I barely played at times. $50/$60 for a new title? Yeeeah... forget it. Not happening anymore.

Even with my consoles all gone, I still have a ridiculous amount of games for my PC. Thanks, GOG! =P This is my primary gaming source now, and it's been working out rather well. I do wait on sales here at times - my backlog certainly isn't hurting for a lack of games - but there are plenty of other occasions when I don't hesitate to buy new releases should they strike my fancy enough (even if I may not play them right away).
Most of the time I wait for a sale and I think I buy less than 5 new games per year. The few times I do buy a new game it is because I really want the game and know that I will get my money's worth out of it like Deus Ex 3 60 hours, Mass Effect 2 80 hours, Skyrim 100 hours, Dragon Age 1 70 hours etc. If I get enough bang for the buck I may pick it up for full price.

As for your DnD games I will say, why not pick one up like BG2? They are fairly cheap anyway but it all depends on your income and backlog. Personally I don't view my backlog as something I need to "get through" as some people here do (you would almost think it was a job to them) but that's just me.
For digital copies, unvaryingly. I just can't justify paying 10 or more USD for a download.
Well ...as a rule - yes - but it was rather a method for keeping my purchases at a reasonable and steady rate than a way to lower GOGs' cost. Now when almost all my primary tagrets on GOG are picked (I have a good chance that after Christmas Sale my Wishlist will be 0 titles long :-( I may change my buying habits.

Big_McLargeHuge: Do you always wait for sales before buying a game? I missed the D&D sale a few weeks back and i am trying to decide weather to buy them now or wait for the next D&D sale. I don't really have that much to be spending. What do you guys do? Do always wait for a sale? Are there exceptions?
I in general wait, the backlog is huge and saving some money is a nice thing. I only make exceptions when I want to actively support the devs, once per year or more seldom. I can highly recommend this strategy, it works well. But of course it's your decision.

I am sure GOG will make a D&D sale again soon, not later than at christmas.
