Do you always wait for sales before buying a game? I missed the D&D sale a few weeks back and i am trying to decide weather to buy them now or wait for the next D&D sale. I don't really have that much to be spending. What do you guys do? Do always wait for a sale? Are there exceptions?
Most of the time I buy games I want when they are on sale. Lots of stuff recently has been sucking my bank dry, so I have no choice to wait or join in on giveaways or ninja codes for games that I want.
Now, if I have the cash, I buy the game at full price if it is a game that I will play and have been dying to own/re-own digitally!
I have such a huge backlog that it often makes no sense not to wait, given that I hardly play them straight away anyway. Except XCOM which I played the moment it launched.
Not 100% of the time, but with the advent of indie bundles and regular sales on various sites, I do for most games now. Especially for "AAA" titles that will have lots of DLC and eventually a GOTY/Complete Edition.

Edit: Over the last year, I can only think of 3 or 4 games I bought that weren't on sale, and even one of them had a discount for it being a pre-order. So yes, I almost always wait it out. Unless the game is something I know I will play right away, I don't see a point in buying instantly considering how often games go on sale now-a-days.

So what do you guys think i should do? What for the next D&D sale?
I tend to instabuy indies (because they need immediate support) and wait for sales on old stuff (nothing ruins a weekend as much as "Nice, you own all games from this promo.").

If you don't need to play them immediately - yes. Hasbro doesn't need your money to survive, the Christmas sale is not far off, and there's the big announcement on the 18th - you may need the money.

Sometimes, it all depends on how much I want the game. Right now I have enough of a backlog to keep me busy for a while so I'm not in much of a hurry to buy anything atm.
It really all depends. If the game is from a developer I like then yes I'm willing to pay full price (that is if the PC version is DRM-Free or the console version doesn't have crap DLC), otherwise I wait for a slight discount or promo to happen.

For the DND stuff you missed I'm kind of certain it'll go back on sale during the holiday season.

-Right now I have enough on my backlog so I'm just going to ignore all promos until it gets cleared out.

I would, as there's a decent chance they'll be on sale during the Christmas sale.

I personally generally wait for a sale, since my backlog is so large that there is rarely a game that I feel I must have on release. It does happen, but not often.
I don't have a huge amount of disposable income, so I generally wait for sales, yes. I'm much more likely to do an impulse buy or get multiple games at once if they're on sale. I had a long stretch in early 2012 of buying absolutely nothing because none of the stuff that I wanted was ever on sale.
I have to REALLY want a game to pay full price. I'm more willing to buy full price if it's an indie or smaller game. the last three things I paid full price for were FTL, Retro City Rampage and Torchlight 2. I have a big enough backlog so I can stand to wait if the game is more than $15-$20.

There is usually a big summer/xmas sale which you could wait for.

Personally I am trying not to buy anymore games until I sort out some of the ones on my backlog (currently at 55). Lately though the sales have been so good I haven't been able to resist.
I find these days that I do. Most of the prices listed here on GOG are very reasonable, but sometimes just saving a few bucks is a nice option.

I do not, however I often do for GOG simply because I actually own many (well to be honest, most) of these games on disc. I bought Etherlords within a day or two of release, even though I own it, but that's more of an exception.

GOG's prices aren't as cheap as some places but they're still a good value, imo.
Usually yes. I am a cheap bastard with a life and a huge backlog. >.>
