Hi everybody,
I finally got Deus Ex which I never played before (please dont kill me) and I am amazed. I was wondering if you have experience with modes and could you recommend me most awesome ones. I was just wondering....I know this is old game community and all, but I would want to play DE with better graphics. So anyone knows about finished complete graphic overhaul mod?
Apparently the New Vision mod is near to completion.
Give the nameless mod a play through as well after you finish with the main game. Really well made for a mod.
These are all you need:

Not a mod per se, but the updated exe and DirectX 10 renderer from this page provide numerous improvements such as built-in anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering settings.

EDIT: and of course someone else posts this while I'm writing this post. :D

Cheers :)
The malkavian mod, I have not had the chance to play it so I don't know if it's actually good but the youtube clips are hilarious.

Thanks everyone, but one thing keeps bugging me, how far are HDTP, New Vision and Nameless mod finished? From some pages I read that they are only halfway finished (probably old pages, but I had to ask)
The nameless mod is complete. You can get the latest version from their site.

HDTP is in beta I think and doesn't seem like it's ever coming out, but it offers some improvements regardless.

if its in beta will there be complications while playing? And do I understand it correctly that nameless mod kinda tells its own storyline?

As Chautemoc said, HDTP isn't completed but does offer some updated weapon models/skins and updates a few characters like Anne Naverre, Gunther Hermann, etc......NewVision is more for world textures like walls/furniture/etc, and is still being worked on. NamelessMod isn;'t a vanilla game update but more a total conversion to a new game so only play that if you want some new gameplay other than the vanilla experience.

As for Shifter, it changes so much from vanilla gameplay(read it's FAQ) that i'd recommend against it if you haven't played through at least once on vanilla.

Overall, as in the guide link posted, i'd recommend HDTP, NewVision, Updated Deus Ex exe(it allows one to easily set newer rendering options much easier and without errors and can set high/wide resolutions.), and the DX10 renderer for antialiasing/anisotropic filtering support(by hitting t then typing preferences ingame to open a advanced options popup) and better game stability.

Read my last reply above this one.....HDTP works great it just doesn't upgrade all the NPC/etc models so some main ones r nicer looking and the others aren't is all....still good to have imo)...and yeah NamelessMod is a different storyline/TC for DeusEx based on the TronLike inner world of the DeusEx internet forum.

Holy crap...
"Paul... I... I...
I thought you were a GEP gun"

"-I do not move out of the way!
-Want this candy bar?
-That will be adequate"

"Forgive my interruption, my vision is augmented"

"By the way my 3 daughters turned up dead. Here's your op bonus, 1000 credits."

I'm pissing myself.

The base game allows high/wide resolutions, but you need to set them in an .ini file. Check here:

I used base graphics but ran at 1920x1080 for my first playthrough. The updated Deus Ex exe is probably still a good choice if you want the antialiasing and anisotropic filtering options, and it probably makes setting the high resolutions less annoying. I have not tried the updated exe myself, however.

GameRager: Also, I didn't say the new exe lets you use antialising/AF/etc....you need the directx10 renderer files(made by the same chap who makes the new exe in fact) to run in DX10 and make use of the highest AA/AF options.
Sorry, my mistake.

I agree that the updated exe is probably much nicer, I just wanted people to know that high resolutions are actually possible from the base game.
