DarthKaal: Even if I understand what you mean, "remake" doesn't necessary mean that a game is rebuild entirely in 3D or whatever...
For this one, when you play in "new" mode, graphics have been remade, music has been remade, voices have been made... in this mode, you don't see or hear any original stuff... technically, it is a remake.

Aliasalpha: I've always adhered to the thought that if the core content is unchanged but enhanced then its a remake, if the core content changes then its a re-imagining (aka: colossal fuckup that exploits the nostalgia of the title while it pisses on the very thing that made it special)

Agree with that, nice definition.
It's very similar to what is done with movies, most remakes are indeed re-imaginings.

RSHabroptilus: Will the remakes possibly come with the original versions as a bonus, too?

The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition includes the original game (although apparently not in its original form); you can switch between the two during play simply by pushing a key.

Wishbone: Remaking DOTT would be different from remaking TSOMI. DOTT has superb cartoony graphics, and the characters are that bit larger than in Monkey Island, that means they really have some definition. I would hope that they will adhere closely to the graphics of the original, only make it HD. Hell, with that graphic style, they could make it vector-based, so it would scale accurately in all resolutions.
Here's a small sample, made with Vector Magic.

phanboy4: Yeah, those look great, and I agree with you, DOTT's art style would go perfect with vector graphics.
They won't do that though. Everything has to be in THRAY DAY now, remember?

Yah, noone seems to remember that's what killed point'n'clicks the first time around.

KingofGnG: Will Day of the Tentacle be the next LucasArts/Telltale remake?
Adventure games maniacs rejoice! :-P

It would certainly rock.
I hope they will make Full Throttle too.
