Stumbled across a website for an adventure game I haven't come across before, thought I'd share it here. Sounds intriguing, but looks like it's been in development for years.

For some reason, it reminds me of Myst crossed with The Dig.
Not too sure if it'll be any good, kind of hard to tell really.
I wouldn't be surprised if the project's dead in the water. All the screenshots look like something you'd find in the 90's.

Huh. This looks really interesting. I hope it gets released. I'm surprised Adventure Company hasn't picked it up. FMV games are seen as cold in the industry so it was quite a gamble. Maybe they don't want it.
The people who made it don't seem to have any business sense if they're negotiating for Rush back catalogue rights, though. Should have just hired the members of Rush to do some new songs, the keyboardist as a solo artist, or, a cover band to knock off vintage Rush with new songs.
This game has been in development for a very very long time. It's basically the Duke Nukem Forever of adventure games. The only real reason why some people have been aware of its existence is because some people from the show Mystery Science Theater 3000 appear in it and that's pretty much all we know about the game at this point anyway. I'll be shocked if it ever comes out. The last couple of news postings say the game was completed but then they went back and started adding some more stuff? What a mess.

Ah, so that's who financed it. Someone from MST3k?
It had "angel investor" written all over it. FMV games are really, really cold right now with publishers. I love them, but you'd be insane to do one.

The only people really doing it are EA, and that's just to increase the camp level with their C&C franchise. Also, the intros to the Skate games have been live-action, as have scenes in Need For Speed.
It looks cool, but I wonder if it will have DRM attached to it or not?
The 'Parallax' fooled me, I thought it was the same studio that did Descent.
An adventure game with FMV I would certainly look into.
Looks like a bit of a wait if anything at all appears though.
Looks interesting. Let's hope it gets released.
Thanks for the heads up.
In similar "news", another seemingly similar slow-moving project: The "Myst fan-game" Ages of Ilathid.
I'll be waiting forward to this game. There are too little of these released these days.
This was a game I've had my eye on for the past few years. Glad to see others are interested in it being finished as well.

Did you play the 3 Cards to Midnight? Hidden Object game and they use CG instead of FMV, but the setup reminded me of the classic FMV games, a lot despite that. Shouldn't be entirely surprising - the makers of Tex Murphy did it. If you like those games, I'd check it out. There's a demo available, too.
Awesomeness.

Good point on EA. I remember Black being the last profile game with FMV. They got rid of the FMV in the new C&C btw. Big article on the game in PC Gamer this month.
