WHAT THE FUCK? Here I am, gliding around in my fancy glide suit, about to grab the 470th out of 500 orbs, and it starts...freezing...up (the game seems to get real chuggy when moving the camera a certain way)...and then it says I need to clean the disc...and then I eject it to clean it...and then it freezes entirely...and then I turn it off and turn it back on...and my account has apparently been deleted...
Well, I'm not going back to that game, because there's no way in hell I am collecting 469 plus the missing fucking orbs... IT WON'T LET ME RECOVER MY ACCOUNT... Does anyone know if this is a problem others are having with their 360 S? I don't seem to even be able to access anything off my hard drive! I'll just unplug the 360, give it a moment, and see if everything's better. If not...well...I don't know what I will do.
You just got Microsoft....ed.....Punked. I'm happy my Xbox just broke on it's own, might as well buy me a PS3.
Okay, after unplugging, replugging, and trying to Recover Gametag, an error pops up that it can't play this game. I tried going through the "Initial Setup" option, and it still fucking crashes. It freezes in those menus for 30 seconds. THIS WILL BE THE NINTH XBOX I HAVE GONE THROUGH, AND FUCK YOU MICROSOFT. I will still get it repaired because I am a consumer whore and love Dead Rising, Halo and Fable, but FUCK YOU MICROSOFT. I will not buy a Microsoft phone; I will buy an Android phone if I have to.
wow 9th. How many times have you sent your or bought one? I had mine sent 2 times and decided to sell it because I had it with the console.

I've had to pay three times, the rest through warranties. I think I'm cursed, but thankfully I won't have to pay this time.

Though luck. Well hope support is better than when I called. :)
Well it turns out my hard drive is busted, so I just have to send that away. In the meantime, I'll be using a USB drive for all my saving needs. Good thing it wasn't the console!

Lucky you. I think. Hopefully it will get fixed with no problems. But seriously, nine xboxes?!
You must be cursed, my friend. have you considered switching to PS3 or Wii?
You've lost your Live account? Eh?
Dude, I'd be pissed. Especially with my 67,340 gamerscore ... But I gave up console gaming a year ago. I play the occasional gem that comes out like Red Dead Redemption. Speaking of which, that game broke my Xbox and my friends in one night. So I realized that my warranty was expired, so I cracked it open and manually fixed the disk drive. Yea I'm selling it right away. Time for a PS3

So were you able to recover your account on the usb drive?
9th?? i'm on my 2nd.. and the first still works... and its first gen... what do people do store them in sealed insulated boxes or something??
Well Cheese, I guess you're back in the PS3 camp?
I'm on my sixth Xbox now, and I'm picking up a 360 S when I move.
If there's one way that Microsoft are like the military it's that their hardware components are made by the lowest bidder.

Aliasalpha: Yeah. The reason the system kept hitching up on the menus is the hard drive. Most of my save files were unusable, but fortunately I've beaten most of the games I've played. Unfortunately, one of them was not Crackdown 2 or Monkey Island 2. If I ever play Crackdown 2 again, I am not installing it to the hard drive.
