Didn't bother with the first. I asked all my friends who watched it, and they all said that it's not bad, but nothing to write home about. I've yet to hear a really positive review from someone I trust.

Find me better dark fantasy TV series and I'll give you half of the kingdom.

Just finding another dark fantasy TV show is an achievement onto itself.

Never watched the first season, but just picked it up on Blu-ray. I've watched the first episode and I though it was pretty good. Hoping the series gets better though, once they set up all the pieces.

Way better. First 2-3 episodes are rather slow, but then, suddenly... all the shit happens :P

That's pretty much what I figured. I've rereading the first book now and it occurred to me that it would be about 3 episodes in before it really starts to roll.

I just bought a 'Dance with the Dragons' - I'll need 2-3 days off from work :-)

Heck, I haven't really watched "The Sopranos" yet either, even though everyone kept telling me years ago what a kickass series it is. I've seen a Sopranos episode here and another there, some fat ass f*cks around and stuff, meh. I still remember the hoopla over the last episode of Sopranos, almost as much talk about it as the ending of Mass Effect 3.

Maybe I'll get around to watch it at some point. Maybe also this Thrones thing which apparently is ongoing on the telly here too. Too much to watch you know, and games take time too.

The only TV-series I''ve in recent years watches semi-seriously is True Blood, and mostly because my gf likes to watch it so the TV is open anyway whenever it comes. Wow, it sometimes sure is weird shit, I have no idea is it actually going anywhere anymore (I think it is 4th season now here, or five?). Now that man in the lead role is some kind of king of vampires, Sookie is a fairy (a real one, not a homo) etc. I think my gf likes it mainly for the raunchy sex scenes and nudity, while I prefer the real thing.

But if they re-run BBC's "The Office" again, I'm sure to watch every episode.

Didn't like the first season, it's like fantasy but with everything that is enjoyable about fantasy carefully squeezed out. If you'll forgive me for even mentioning them in the same sentence, it's like Lord of the Rings if it was only Gondor and Rohan in Middle-Earth, utterly boring.

Edit: Oh, plus the obligatory terrible HBO writing and pointless sexual material thrown in to please the idiots.
