The ultimate collection of amusement park business ups and downs!

RollerCoaster Tycoon 1+2+3, a collection of three great amusement park management games that let you create the rides you always dreamed about, is available for only $8.97 (that's 75% off) in a bundle on GOG.com, for the next 24 hours. You can also get the games separately with 60% off discount.

Where's entertainment for the masses, there's massive income for a skilled entrepreneur. An amusement park is an automated money maker for a businessman who understands what it's all about. Build an "EST" ride--one that's either the fastEST, highEST, longEST, scariEST, craziEST, or any other possible "EST"--and the people will come running to experience the "EST" moment in their lives. As long as you come up with original ways to rattle and shake people, there's plenty of loose change that'll surely drop out of their pockets. Make them scream with terror or yell with joy and they'll get sore throat and be happy to pay you five bucks for a medium soda. You'll need a rake to handle the cash. But here's a secret: this isn't about money. If you'll go into the business with only the cash in mind, you will fail. It's all about letting your inner child finally build the playground of their dreams. Do that. People will love it.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 1+2+3 is a brilliant series of managerial games that let you design and run your very own amusement park complete with custom rides and various other attractions. The more money you make, the bigger your budget gets, and the more technically advanced and extravagant rides you get to build. The economic part of all of the games is consistently challenging and deep, while the theme park development options are getting more robust and varied with every game. Creating a perfect mix of serious business simulation with the sheer joy of riding the rides you design, this great collection will provide you with many hours of pure fun!

Get your roller coaster business on track with RollerCoaster Tycoon 1+2+3 for a small investment of only $8.97. If you already own any of the featured games on GOG.com, you'll be able to complete the bundle retaining the 75% off discount rate. The offer lasts until Tuesday, July 9, at 9:59AM GMT.

I'd hardly call that a massacre as everyone still seemed to be alive and well after that incident. Notice the children going "yay". What a strange bunch.

graspee: Oh and also, no-one has mentioned yet:

JMich: We did mention that article when it came out, a bit more than a year ago. I also think that deep discounts are bad, but GOG had to evolve to continue.
Shall we continue with what happened in 2012? I think there was a football match of some sorts at that time, wasn't there?
You (and Shaolin_sKunk) misunderstand.
Obviously that article has been discussed before, but I meant no-one has brought it up in this thread yet. It would seem to be relevant given the discount percentage.

But good job jumping all over me and stamping on my head when I didn't deserve it.

graspee: All you are buying if you buy the MoO licence is a tradable name and the name and features of the alien races. People have been trying to replicate the goodness of MoO for years without having the official name: "spiritual successor" and all that. The reason most of them fall short has nothing to do with the name and exact features of the aliens. We also know that having the official name and aliens does not necessarily make a good game (hello, MoO3, "the boy in the attic").
Too be honest I have no idea what you are actually buying but for me it doesn't really matter, I may still insist that the price is ridiculously low. Why? Because Moonbase Commander has exactly the same price tag. Don't get me wrong I actually like Moonbase Commander but I bet a lot of gamers have never heard of it while in case of Master of Orion... well, I think it's enough to say that a lot of non-gamers have heard of it. It just feels SO wrong that those two franchises have the price...

Well, if you want to see a death of children, you should definitely play RCT 1 and 2. 3 is better for "massacres" though because of physics engine.

True, the article hasn't been brought up on this thread yet. It was brought up during the summer sale, and it was brought up in Telltale's sales as well. So if I do appear jumpy after the 3rd (at least) time I see it mentioned this year, it's because it seems like we've seen it many more times already.
I think even TET gave a reply about the sales percentages at some point, want me to go look for it?

jamyskis: Then again, they might be bought by Chris Sawyer
That'd be pretty cool.

These are starting bidding prices in order to entice potential buyers as well as set a minimum floor. No different than seeing both of these games on ebay up for bidding starting at $1.00 each. As to how these minimum prices have been set, I am sure they are using actuarial values based on what is on their books, this is, after all, being considered a bit of a fire sale.

But you are talking about economics. And if you are saying that from this point of view there is nothing wrong with this price I do believe you because I know next to nothing about economics. I tried to present a gamer point of view and then the price is ridiculously low. I would like to add that I actually never enjoyed MoO that much because it's just no my cup of tea but nevertheless I'm first to admit that it is a brilliant game which had a large influence on the video game industry. And because of it the price - like I said in my previous post - just feels wrong. It's purely emotional though.

I see. Allow me to post this article into every single newspost featuring a deep discount. Let's see, that's nearly every newspost from the summer sale, multiple Gem promos and weekend deals, the winter sales...

We have to shove it in their face and force them to eat their own words, right? We aren't allowed to just move on from things which ultimately aren't that important?
Well, since people are talking Atari, I think I can post this w/o getting too much flack, or at least just the right amount of flack:

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/humongous_entertainment_support_thread

Please vote Pajama Sam, Spy Fox, Putt-Putt, and Freddi Fish, if you'd buy them.

You tell me. You're the one still talking about this.

nijuu: GOG should have another Atari sale....
If it's true the games (or some of them) end up no longer being available on GOG, I could see that happening.

Although it sounds quite confusing/complicated with various Atari titles being bought by different companies.
Just got this :-) Great price. These are games I always wanted to play, but never got around doing so (Im stuck on Civilization 4/5 & SimCity 4 for ages now!)

any chances we'll see a "Jagged Alliance Complete" bundle someday?

Good point. It hadn't been mentioned yet in this thread. To ensure this doesn't happen again, every time there is a 75% or 85% sale, you are officially appointed as the guy who links that article. I am sure everyone will appreciate it.
