Both games set in the World of Aden up to 70% off

Thuderscape and Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall, two very different classic RPG titles sharing the original setting of the World of Aden, are available bundled on GOG.com with 70% discount. That's only $3.58 for both for the next 24 hours.

In 1995, that is 19 years ago, Strategic Simulations Inc. set out to create a whole new fantastic universe that would become a canvas, on which they would depict epic campaigns and heroic sagas. The legendary developer team decided to take the popular pulp-fantasy tropes, put them through a grinder, mix in some steampunk pizzazz for that special coppery aftertaste, and slap a catchy--and a tad pompous--name on their creation. Thus, the World of Aden came to existence. It never became as popular as some of the fantastic realms of eternal fame, and it only witnessed two heroic campaigns in the end, but it surely deserves its place in the role-play gaming hall of fame. Today, GOG.com invites you for a trip to this amazing forgotten land.

Thunderscape presents you with many time-proven RPG ideas that work together so well, that it's astounding that anyone would want to modify them. You get a party of six brave champions, a large gameworld to explore, lots of items to collect, stats to build, and enemies to slay. While roaming the world, the game progresses in real-time, switching to turn-based combat whenever you approach (or get ambushed by) an opponent. With everything that made dungeon crawlers so successful in the 1990 and some very distinctive steampunk-ish feel, this game is highly recommended to all cRPG fans looking for a challenge!

Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall is a RPG-ish action-adventure game set in the world of Aden, introduced by Thunderscape. This isn't a sequel though, but a completely stand-alone tale presented by different means. This time we get a top-down view, a single character, and more puzzle and combat-oriented gameplay. With the ability to morph into insect-like beasts to take on your enemies, an intriguing story, and enough in-game content to keep you busy for 40 hours, this classic title deserves to become a part of your collection of PC oldies.

Grab them both for only $3.58, today! You can also get just Thuderscape or Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall with 60% off discount, that is for $2.39 each. If you already own one of them on GOG.com, you can get the other with the higher discount rate, that's for only $1.79. The Classic Gem Promo offer lasts until Tuesday, January 21, at 10:59AM GMT.
Nice promo. Although got both games havent really played much of them yet but intend to.
I bought Entomorph as it looked weird and interesting but for some reason it doesn't want to go entirely fullscreen, I can see the taskbar. Auto-hide works good enough but any better solution out there?

SCPM: What was it, some character pictures or something?

JMich: GOGWiki is your friend. At least until someone updates it.
Thanks, JMich. Some day, I will make it a habit to look to GOGWiki when I've got a question like this. :)
low rated
EDIT: sorry if people misunderstood my post. I have nothing against these games I never heard of. I do indeed check them out, and some of them look interesting. I did not mean to be negative.

Thunderscape was great. I really wish we had more games like that here.

Entomorph is interesting, and maybe it‘s just me, but holy crap it's hard.

tburger: Ekhm...I just noticed that the only bonus added to Covert Action dissapeared. Is it a good sign?

SCPM: Then I'm not crazy, and there was a bonus there. What was it, some character pictures or something?
It was the mastermind mug shots that were a part of the manual and used to get past the rights management that was originally designed for the game. Since they were looking for ways to prevent pirates from having the full experience, they implemented a procedure where you had to match certain names/mug shots, and the only way to do so was to refer to those pictures.

Pretty sure those pictures were in the original manual though, so that's probably why it's not listed right now. Maybe the manual is coming sooner than we thought?

Right time to get those classics.
These games are both new to me. It's always nice to be exposed to more old games.

I must say, I'm impressed by the trailer for Thunderscape. It takes enough time to explain what's going on that I actually get a sense of the context. That big shield is a great visual hook.
Just picked them up. Also got got Spycraft from the weekend sale and Heretic Kingdoms (which I'm sure will go on sale in a few days now that I've paid full price for it).
Ah, sweet Entomorph... finally you are mine again. Muahahahaaa!
A quick shout out goes to mkienenb for the Entomorph manual :) Thanks again!

This game runs windowed so hiding it is the best you can do.

htown1980: hmmm.. this looks like a win 3.1 game. needs wine. not sure i have the skills to reduce the available memory to get it work properly...
Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall is a 32-bit game (GOG never uses 16-bit versions of Windows games).

I see, I still suspect I will have trouble getting it to work on wine. That may be why Thunderscape has a mac compatible version but Entomorph doesn't.

I think I'll pick it up anyway...
Both games I bought way back when released, but I'd totally forgotten about Entomorph, good catch!

Maybe I'll actually play it finally...
