What's the difference between the two?

Well, one makes you play parts of the game you have already played to get to the point where you were 'discovered' (and for me, discovered every dang time, over and over, until I find a cheat to get past that point), the other just throws more enemies at you and you do not have to replay anything unless you actually die and didnt save.#Q&_^Q&Q#LINK:15#Q&_^Q&Q#

Right, that's what I meant, usually in those kind of games getting caught and 10 guys coming after you means pretty much you're dead (think Splinter Cell). And that's how I interpreted your asking whether you had to start again, but now I realized that you meant whether the game actually does end when you get caught, which I can't think of any game I've played that is like that.
No One Lives Forever was like that.
So was I'm Goin In (2, IIRC).
So was Return To Castle Wolfenstein (although only in certain parts of the game).
Annoys me to no end.

Fair enough, it's been a while since I've played any of those, so I just didn't remember, NOLF is an incredible game though, I played it way after it had originally come out, but fell in love with it nonetheless, same with the sequel. I want to play that standalone expansion that was more action oriented.
Hehe, I havent played them since they first came out also.
Actually, I never finished NOLF because of this.
But, annoyances like that tend to stick in my craw for a good long time.
I'm really hoping I'll be able to pick this up when I go to Tokyo during Golden Week later this month. Always wanted the original but never did find it being sold anywhere >_<.
Be warned, according to PC Gamer the PC version uses mandatory SecuROM online activation with a three-install limit, and the activations are non-revocable.

Thats like, not even a game anymore to me. Vin Diesel should step in and stomp them hoes.

To be honest, this doesn't bother me too much. I already know that SecuROM does not mess up my PC and I know exactly how to remove it when I need to.

This bit, if true, however, is a bit annoying. Although I tend not to uninstall games for a year or so after installation. I also expect that like most companies before them, a revocation tool will be released after the concerns over day-zero and initial period piracy subside. (And yes, we gamers know that DRM does nothing to stop piracy) but the suits are still too stupid to catch on to that one).
If they want to charge me full price for a 3 times rental they are reaaaaally wrong.
Damn I was looking forward to this game. 3 install limit equals an automatic no buy regardless of if they release deactivation tools later or not.
A quick skim of reviews reveals that the new chapter doesn't seem to be as good as the original (which is apparently still great) and seems to be mostly a straight up shooter.
Unless you want it for something like the multiplayer, it'd seem to me to be a better bet to just buy the original.
PS/ I don't think the stealth in BB was ever "instant fail" like NOLF. There might be a couple of bits where stealth is needed, but its not common. The advantage of stealth is that you get to take guys down in an efficient and cool way... and there is at least one part where you are up against armed guards with only melee weapons - so stealth is recommended. But its the GOOD KIND OF STEALTH imho.
(this game = thief meets deus ex meets doom3)
No revoke tool, no buy.
looks cool, but as my pc is aging (Yay for GoG) i might have to get this for ps3 if i do get it.
