Just picked it up today for the PC, and man, they have done a lot of work improving and lengthening the original! I've heard some people say the new chapter is about as long as the original, which is awesome. As Vivendi was closing, they continued working dilligently, so when Atari agreed to publish the game, they had already made great lengths into getting this new content in! The new content was originally going to be very, very short, so it was a brilliant decision to use the time they spent at that dying publisher wisely.
Are any of you going to get it? Or do you just hate Vin Deisel (or that second Riddick movie, which Keith Urban RUINED) so much that you're willing to ignore an improved version of an awesome game? I know that lots of people hate the guy, but I think he's great at being a badass.
Oh, and if they never make another Riddick movie or game again, I will be pissed. Just call the next one Pitch Black 2 and forget the second movie ever existed, OK, Universal? Thanks.
I already actually finished it :D The promo version, but still. The new part indeed is very lengthy, but it's actually rather subpar in my opinion, abandoning a lot of the stealth elements of the original and focusing on shooting things instead... A nice game for those who haven't played BB though.

How did you get your hands on a promo copy? Do you review games?

I don't personally, but my big brother works for Finland's largest gaming magazine, so I usually get to play games the games he reviews after he's done with them :)
I loved the original one and I'm definitelly buying Dark Athena asap. Is it good optimized?

Actually, it ran pretty fluidly with my PC, that's not exactly brand new. It's slightly more high-end that Butcher Bay, but not by that much. Also, the controls etc. don't seem console-like at all.
I'm interested in getting it for Xbox 360, is it a GFWL title on PC?
does it have Xbox 360 controller support?

While it isn't a GFWL title, it DOES have 360 controller support.
So, this is a remake of BB, + an extra level, is that right?
I never got to play the BB.
I bought it, but it would never install on either of my 2 machines.
I eventually gave it to a friend.
But, if it is a remake, I would be interested in playing it.

Not just + an extra level. The new content is almost as long as the original game.

Is it like a LOT of stealth ?
Like NOLF or THIEF type stealth ?
Like, if you are seen, then that is it, you have to go back to a previous save ?
Thanx for the info.

Is not that based on stealth. Is more like a mix between Thief and a first person brawler (with different weapons such as screwdrivers or blades).
But, are the stealth parts like:
If you are seen, then an alarm goes off, and you are basically 'dead' and have to restart?
I hate that type of stealth game.
Or is it more, if you are seen, then a whole heck of a lot more enemies come after you ?
That, I dont mind.
thanx.

What's the difference between the two?

What's the difference between the two?

Well, one makes you play parts of the game you have already played to get to the point where you were 'discovered' (and for me, discovered every dang time, over and over, until I find a cheat to get past that point), the other just throws more enemies at you and you do not have to replay anything unless you actually die and didnt save.
