Isn't SF4 a GFW Live title ? It uses it for multiplayer and save storage, yes?

I doubt it comes to gog.

But... Resident Evil 1-3 and Devil May Cry 3-4 is more than enough for me to jizz.

park_84: Is there some list with all the PC games by Capcom?
Also it would be great if they think about selling MAME bundles with old arcade titles (Final Fight, Cadillac & Dinosaurs...).

Mobygames is useful here.

As for MAME, don't MAME's licensing conditions forbid commercial exploitation?

Yup. Don't know about the save storage, but the game has GFWL. A very good fighter, but I'm not that good at those kind of games.

There's a drop-in replacement for GFWL called XLiveLess. You simply replace the xlive.dll and voilà - GFWL-free gaming.

It's not perfect and it mainly seems to be used for piracy at present, but still, it could be useful in the future for legally releasing GFWL games DRM-free.

Ok, so there is a workaround. But it doesn't mean automatically that GOG would be allowed to use that. We will see. SF4 isn't hard to acquire for pocket money still (in retail), so I would rather wait for real classics first ;-)

I expect that as client-based systems such as Steam, GFWL and UPlay kick the bucket in the future, this will probably be the approach of choice in the future for getting games to work and reselling them, by emulating Steam/GFWL/UPlay API calls and redirecting them.

I own both SF4 and SF4AE already, but i'll gladly dip again for a version without GFWL.

Sure....

This whole "internet" thing is only a fad that will blow over.

You can't seriously be so naive to believe that the services we're using today will be the same ones we'll be using in ten years from now.

Of course, WON and MPlayer have held out for decades with their online services, because they'll never go down. Oh wait...

Steam is now how old?

And my first E-mail address is turning 13 next year. Amazon, eBay etc are all strong and profitable and over a decade old.

EA, Ubi and Valve are all hugely successful corporations with multiple venues of income.

I'm not saying that those will remain the same as now, but their concept will evolve and I am very certain that if I want, I can still play my Steam games in ten years. Like I can play HL 2 now.
I still play games via AOL!
I would love to see Mega Man on GOG
Nice to see Capcom on board. Unfortunately, you only need to look at Steam's Japan store to see how small Capcom's offerings could be on GOG. I.e., no Resident Evil, only one DMC game, only one Lost Planet game, Flock!, Age of Booty, and more SF DLC than any sane person could ever want.

Capcom won't even publish Japanese games for which they have the Japan distribution rights as they, and I quote Capcom, "don't care".

Now, I would love to see GOG actually persuade Capcom Japan to sell all PC games via DD on GOG and thus prove me wrong, but other publishers who have joint rights with them have failed to do that for all other major DD stores already, due to the aforementioned "don't care" response from Capcom Japan.

Maybe I'm wrong but I'd swear that MAME has been used in some commercial games. I guess that MAME's licensing forbids to get some profit without the consent of the MAME team, some agreement should be made between GOG and MAME.
