In the end, the buying the bundle is the security I need for the interplay games to stay secure for me without much of a hassle.

Bethesda will probably just pull the games altogether and pretend 3 was the first one so that there's no standards to compare it to.

Interplay is dying. They will probably sell out all the franchise they still have before the final breath.

There is still a year left to negotiate and as much as Zenimax seems dead set against DRM, the success story of EA and other could perhaps turn them around.

Mmm, I suppose you're right. I mean, after all, where did all the progress made toward reestablishing society that was shown to happen in the first two games go? The third one felt like a major step backwards, which in and of itself wasn't a bad thing, but they offered no explanation for it.

Any kind mod to give a clear answer?

While the issue doesn't concern me particularly - I have all three games already on disc - I'm finding the lack of any kind of blue text quite disconcerting and, to be quite honest, rather rude.

To be honest, if there were no problems with the Fallout licence and the 2013 cut-off date didn't affect GOG, I don't doubt that blue text would pop up to assure us that all is well. The silence, on the other hand, suggests all kinds of other issues.

In business terms, I can understand that GOG does not wish to admit publicly that it seems to be haemorraging signed games at present and that the GOG team would be reluctant to admit that three more are likely to be going bye-bye at the end of the year. As a gamer, however, I'm finding the lack of any kind of statement from the staff to be rather impolite.

Maybe they do have something on the back burner to announce on New Year's Day. Maybe Bethsoft/Zenimax will be assuming the role of publisher for those specific games, and this marks the signing of a new publisher, thus paving the way for future Bethsoft releases like Morrowind.

Of course, if GOG is simply keeping silent to incite panic buying of Fallout, well, that's just disingenuous.

As has been pointed out, it's not till 1/1/2014, so they have over a year to get it sorted out. GOG probably doesn't know what will happen at that point since it's so far away. I would hope that they're trying to secure Zenimax in that time period, but you know how they are about talking about any upcoming deals.

I would not hold my breath waiting on that as what is there to say outside of "yes we are aware of this issue and we are working on trying to work out a deal with Bethesda or Zenimax to keep the games here" they did not say anything when a similar thing happened with Atari and Hasbro with the D&D games because really what good will that do?

Nothing so they acknowledge what people should figure they are going to do and that is try to keep the games. Besides if they did say something all we are going to be seeing for god knows how long are posts like "well have you gotten Bethesda to sign", "when are you guys going to sign bethesda?", "why aren't GOG trying to get Bethesda on board to keep the Fallout games here!!111!!!1112221!" because nothing will be said after the initial blue text post saying "we are working on it" and why because like most businesses they don't talk publicly about negotiations.

In short all you can do is just sit and hope for the best and if GOG can get Bethesda on board they will if not there is not much anything anyone can do since if Bethesda has no interest in signing they have no interest in signing and no amount of user postings and confirmations from staff will have any effect on that.

I really doubt that they are trying to be disingenuous.

Regardless of what happens, I will probably get all games before the end of the deal, as it is too good to ignore.

However a simple "we do not know as of yet" would be enough (if anything people would rush to get the games) and truthful, rather than seeing titles being removed from the store without previous notice.
There's no point in emailing them, as the games will be available for purchasers, even if they're pulled from the store.

A public comment would be cool though, even if it's a no-answer answer.

A way to look at it, is if there are six or more games that you want in the Interplay PWYW get the entire pack, otherwise you can pay full price for the games that you do want or wait for the Christmas sale to get what you want. What I have read I would probably be safe with saying the games will be on here through the end of the year at least. What happens after that we do not know. The choice is up to you of what you want to do.

It is also likely that once Bethesda/Zenimax has the rights for Fallout 1/2 and Tactics that they may just make the game completely free similar to Arena/Daggerfall...

Why are people panicking about this now? From what I understand, Interplay's license to sell Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics doesn't expire for over a year (December 31, 2013), so why would GOG even have any kind of announcement at this point?
