Magic Carpet 2 was actually the first computer game I ever bought (when EB Games was still it's own thing), and I lost the disc. I was really young when I played it, and I think it scared me half to death (like all games back then), and I lost the disc. I would give massive props to GOG if they could get a hold of it.
When I bought Magic Carpet 2 for some reason it came with two CDs. I've never been sure if this was because it was capable of ethernet 2-player games (which I only ever got to try out once on my old office network) or was just a mistake at the packing center. The upside is that although one of the disks has since been cracked the other is still intact and would, had I the time to get dosbox running, presumably still work for me.
Please, yes please...please....pplllllllllllleeaassse!! A chance to play theme hospital, theme park, dungeon keeper 1 and 2 again....YES PLEASE! GOG could have even more of my money.
I'm going to find somewhere quiet to calm down in now.
Actually, just yesterday a good friend of mine came down with Bloaty Head Syndrome. It's a shame Theme Hospital isn't around anymore, as I could simply have directed him to the GP's Office. Now the poor sod will have to walk around with a watermelon attached to the top of his neck.
Also, does anyone know the cure for Heaped Piles?
In fact, several of the grand old development houses that EA killed, had game catalogues that would be brilliant for GOG. Not only Bullfrog, but Origin (Ultima series, Wing Commander series, System Shock 1, Crusader series) and Westwood (Dune II/2000, Early Command & Conquer series, Kyrandia series) too. Probably others as well.
If there is any way EA could be persuaded to sell those old games through GOG (using the existing business model, including no DRM, thank you very much), it would be absolutely fantastic.
I'll second that Wishbone! I'd happily buy most of those games again... (not that I still have them, unfortunately.)
btw... I think Command and Conquer and C&C: Red alert are now available for free from EA, and I think they may even work in windows aswell.
Actually, the released only the Windows version... which is lacking the wonderful EVA installer....grumble, grumble. Anyway, you can find the links in the freeware thread,
EA has recently begun rereleasing old Bullfrog games on PSN... not exactly a sign that they will come to GoG, but at least it now seems like there's actually somebody aware at EA that they still own these games.
