Not a fan of fighting games, but I played Mortal Kombat 4 to death when I was younger.

That's kinda surprising, really. As Shift is pretty much about as sim-like as I'm inclined to get; and I quite like racing games.

Usually don't go for platformers, but I loved Trine.

Have you played Machinarium? It's by the same people and has very similar gameplay. The mood isn't quite so hyperactively upbeat, but it's no less beautiful a game.

If you consider Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines and Commandos 2 strategy games, I would say those. I can't play strategy games very long. They tend to bore me. If you don't consider those to be strategy games, I think it would be Halo Wars, followed closely by Dawn of War and Company of Heroes.

I generally dislike games where you have to type a lot, but Sega's "Typing of the Dead" is very nice.

I don't like non-games where there is not much of a game in the first place, but Portal (not the Valve game, but the Amiga game from the 80s) kept me interested. All you really do is to click on things and read read read. "An interactive novel" or whatever it was called.

I don't like QTE laserdisc games, except Space Ace.

Also another vote for not liking sports games in general but loving Speedball 2 (PC-version), even head-to-head against another human.

I think I also liked Virtua Fighter 2 (maybe also 1, Virtua Fighter PC) quite a bit, even though I don't generally like fighting games.

I'm not overly fond of the 2D fighting genre overall, however I love BlazBlue and a few other fighting games.

Oh I almost forgot. I'm not that great when it comes to city builders (well, the few I've played), but I loved Anno 2070 and Sim City 3000.

MMOs for the most part I don't play that much since I get bored rather quickly, but I really liked Guild Wars 2. I'm willing to try Final Fantasy 14 A Realm Reborn, Tera, EVE, and maybe the Elder Scrolls one sometime.

I normally don´t like sports videogames but I really enjoy Ice Hockey, Nintendo World Cup and Super Spike V-Ball for the NES.

Lol, the post where you asked the question already contained my only answer. Speedball 2 is the only sports game I ever really enjoyed. Just like you, I didn't just like it - I loved it. I think it was 2001 when I got a replacement screen for our Amiga 500 - ages after our original screen had given up. I could finally show my best friend some Amiga greatness - to my disappointment he instantly disliked the system and almost all of my personal favourites. But then I showed him Speedball 2 and we wouldn't ever stop playing it for weeks. :D

Oh yeah, there IS another one. Plants vs Zombies. I hate 99% of all Tower Defense games I've ever tried but I instantly fell in love with this one. The gameplay, the design, the atmosphere... some of the best stuff I've ever played. :)
