What's your favourite game in a genre you don't typically enjoy?

Me? I've got no time for sports games. But NBA Jam (SNES) and Speedball 2 (Amiga) really stand out as exceptions as I didn't just like those games, I loved them. Maybe it's because they're both quite close to being action games. But whatever it is, they remain favourites.

So, what about you?

Hate sports, but played Speedball 2 (Amiga) for hours.

Hate racing, but played Rollcage 1+2 for hours.

I can't think of a genre i didn't like playing.

Burnout Paradise is a racing/sports game I enjoy. Probably the only one.

Civilization is, for the most part, the only strategy series I REALLY enjoy. I dabble in some others but not that often, with Civ I can spend 100 hours playing it around release.

I don't play puzzle games in general but I like word games like Ruzzle, Scrabble and Bookworm.

I can't think of any fighting game I have ever really enjoyed. Even Street Fighter as a kid was more just to make my friends happy.

I hate racing. I love Carmageddon.

I hate platformers. I loved Prince of Persia (original), Flood, Braid, New Zealand Story.

I hate military shooters. I loved Call of Duty (1 and 2).

Lol we got same tastes i guess.. Enjoyed NBA Jam for a few hours only though as it's boring quick and speedball 2 i sure loved it, add in superstar soccer on SNES..

I am no good at sims and I don't like most of them, but I love this little gem.

Dare I say the Witcher? I generally don't enjoy RPGs for numerous reasons but I found this one quite accessible.

Hate sport games but I've spent lots of time playing Great Courts on C64

Strategy Games are not typically appealing to me, despite being a chess player.

However, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri is one of my all-time favorite games.

The Arkham games. I normally HATE third-person games, but these are surprisingly solid & enjoyable games.

Hate fighting games ... but Smash Bros Melee/Brawl.

I dislike sports games the most, my favorite is NBA Jam too.

Forza 2, I dont really like race sims, but its a quality racer and with the art option, I have an awesome collection of art cars from superheroes, to rock album covers, movie stars/characters, cartoon characters, pretty cool game.

I'm not a fan of 3rd person shooters, but I really liked Max Payne 3
