Tormentfan: everything he's done since PS:T has proven beyond a doubt that it was a fluke, anyway

Fred_DM: wut?
Icewind Dale?
Icewind Dale 2?
KotOR 2?
Neverwinter Nights 2?
Mask of the Betrayer?
Alpha Protocol?
Fallout: New Vegas?

if that isn't an impressive record, i don't know what you're asking for.
Ok, I'll give you MotB, but after the abortive mess of NWN2 they HAD to pull a rabbit out of the that for that one or they'd have flushed the whole franchise down the toilet then and there, as opposed to doing it a couple of years later.

But IWD/2 was a poorly written dungeon crawl, the combat carried that game. He doesn't get a Pass for Kotor 2 considering the state it was left in, his fault for that or not it ended up a disjointed mess, hardly a pinacle of story telling. Alpha Protocol is acceptable as a game, but hardly exceptional, the same with F:NV.. and both were buggy up the arse... and he certainly doesn't get a pass for original design considering everything there is based on better work.

I'll admit he has, at times, good ideas.. but in the end that all the ever amount to.

New post from Trent Oster:

http://www.beamdog.com/forum/forums/general-discussion/topics/baldurs-gate-enhanced-edition?page=10#post_1487

"We've got a pipeline we need to run content through for approvals, so that limits our throughput on releasing info.
Our vision around BGEE has a few rules and a few goals.
1. Don't break the fun.
2. Fix what is broken. -Multiplayer and UI are top of the list
3. Create the best version of Baldur's Gate possible. - Create new content for the game and work with the creators to curate the community content to make the game better.

I personally like the concept of kicking Throne of Bhall out as a complete original adventure and calling it BG3 (This often came up at Bioware as discussion in hindsight on the series). But, our arrangement is for two products from the existing content. So, ToB is included with BG2.
With regards to rules changes, anything in the original games has already been approved. Any new additions require approval, so we've got to manage the amount of content we can move through the pipeline. We are working hard to prioritize our work to make the best BG we can. The guys we are working with are pretty awesome and the feedback is making our content better, but it does add to our timeline.

-Trent"
since when has the UI been broken?!?

what community content is he talking about? leave the damn content alone already.

and still no information what the EE will actually look like, how they're going to achieve a high-res edition of a 2D game. no screenies yet, either. 3 weeks after the announcement...

How was Fallout New Vegas buggy? I never once had a single problem with it. I've been playing it since i downloaded it on steam at 3am the day it came out.

Honestly. I dont see any benefits for the PC user. This project is anything but that.
What? You don't want us Mac users getting a port? I'm offended. ;_;
