I have this dream, of a wrestling promotion that returns to the past to a certain degree, while expanding into more realistic territory. If any of you are interested, I will share my idea here.
I want a combination of shoot style matches, and impactful holds/slams, where finishing moves are difficult to perform, and/or catestrophic. I want a lot of chain wrestling to start off just about every match, and every match should start with a lockup.
I want a lot less of one guy being dazed while the attacker does a series of moves, punctuated with rest and taunts. If anything, the entire match should be all chain wrestling, except for big spots following stunning manuevers.
I want a vertical suplex to mean something. You see maybe 1 suplex on an episode of Raw these days. I want punches to be discouraged, a lot less pin attempts, and NO near falls on moves that don't end matches. IE, ia guy should only attempt a pin after a move that has ended matches before. I want matches ended suddenly, and not always to finishing moves. I want submissions to be final if completed, not the current system of "torquing" the joint. In real life, a submission is either attempted or completed, never survived.
I want matches to resemble sports contests, with combatents matches for ranking, not always because of some soap opera feud. There will be no "evil authority figure" character, general managers, etc.
This is my dream, and I know it will never happen.
