How exactly is the PS4 DRM? You don't have to connect the console to internet or check games, unless the publisher requires it. In this case, modern AAA EA games are an example. Not to mention GOG is a save haven in this DRM-fest called PC Gaming.

Digital games on PS4 have drm since beginning of PSN in 2006. This by official statement by Director of Sony Digital Studios. Only retail games that you buy for PS4 have no drm. A digital game on PS4 is bound on to a gamers account and can be installed only on one console not up to five as it was on PS3. Sony wen't with really bad drm on this one.

I see what you mean. Well, when I think of consoles, I certainly do not think of purchasing stuff digitally. But that is just me.

These days, PSN+ subscription = buildup of digital library with monthly free games, whether you're buying games or not. Over the long term you're still building up something you're not going to want to lose. It also means more and more console users are getting used to having games digitally as time passes.

Digital games on consoles is only going to grow.

I'm one of those people that will get PSN+ just for online play on PS4. I have no interest in PS+ as a PS3 and PSVita owner.

For someone living in Germany, where PC hardware is overpriced, your decision makes sense. Why spend around 1000 euro more for a PC capable of playing new games when PC gaming doesn't really offer more than console gaming. Best to just save that 1000 euro and play new games on your PS4.

Oh, I'm a PS+ subscriber alright, but I'm not as delusional as you seem to think. I know those games will disappear once my subscription ends, which is why I use it essentially as a rental service to discover games that I might otherwise not have touched.

I have on the odd occasion bought games on disc that I found great having discovered them through PS+.

The amount of stuff that I actually buy digitally on PS3/Vita/4 is very low, for the same reasons as on PC.

Same as on PC then. :) I also fail to see walled-garden consoles as the solution against DRM, and consoles are more and more moving to digital delivery as well, with easily as much, if not more, DRM as on PC.

What I don't also quite get are the farewell threads. It just makes it look silly if and when the person who gave "farewell" comes back later on. I prefer quiet and modest exits. Well ok, in this case there was reason, as the OP had been keeping up certain list, and wished someone to take over that job. But generally speaking.

No denying in that, but PC still gets the crown as the king of DRM. For AAA games, I prefer consoles. I use GOG for exclusive old games that were updated for newer OSs and because CDProjekt is a dev that I like supporting. But as far as AAA games go, I couldn't care less about graphics. Consoles it is for me. I will occasionally buy some RPGs in physical form on PC too and if they are not DRM'd, or the occasional Humble Bundle that has Steam activation keys, but nothing major. Right now, The Elder Scrolls Saga pack on PC is the only thing on my most own list for this platform.

Well, take Dishonored for example. I enjoyed the game for the gameplay and the world, and even the story. On PC, Dishonored looks great, while on console it looks good at best, but I didn't mind that.
