mondo84:
I was wondering how long it would take people to notice that, although I had expected a new topic.
The new additions sound pretty good.
I hope it comes to GOG too.

There is a weird tactic lately to bring "gold" "deluxe" "whatever" editions to steam for games that were sold for a long time elsewhere.

they probably do that to avoid seeing the constant "omg, you charging how much for this old title?", "why are these horrid old games cluttering up my beautiful, beautiful steam?", "how dare you release a old game with no enhancements" that pop up in the community hubs for older releases on top of the usual steam community demands for achievements, trading cards, controller support, cloud saving, ect.

And then sometimes enhanced versions come to GOG AND Steam but screw the people who own the old version on Desura!
*still refreshing the page waiting for his Desura copy of The Shivah to morph into the Kosher Edition!*

(BTW that was a weak attempt at humour - don't want people to genuinely think I'm been seriously whiney about this!)

Pheace: This is why GOG has been expanding it's market.

GOG has been really successful and has done great in bringing back many classics and reinvigorating interest in titles or even genre's that were becoming extinct.

GOG's popularity however has also shown developers/publishers that there is an actual market for oldies/classics sold online. And for them, there really is no reason for a game to only be on GOG. It was only a matter of time till oldies were going to spread to the other digital retailers.
Best comment on this nasty Old/ New-Games discussion ever!
Descent was released on Steam today.
