A game from the makers of the original FALLOUT?
The first GABRIEL KNIGHT game? (we want the other games too!)
INSTABUY!
Now I want the Zork games!
Could we get Masterpieces of Infocom maybe? Although, Gabriel Knight's good enough. I'll probably try Arcanum sometime too.
Congratulations to GOG for securing this deal. You rock!
I really hope we get most of the following:
-King's Quest Collection
-Space Quest Collection
-Police Quest Collection
-Larry 1-7
-Quest for Glory 1-4
-Pitfall
-Return to Zork, Zork: Nemesis and Zork: Grand Inquisitor
-Little Big Adventure I&II
-No one lives Forever
-Mechwarrior
-Time Commando
-Soldier of Fortune 1&2
-All the id Software games (Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake)
-Interstate 76
-No One Lives Forever 1&2

Arcanum, thanks GoG, thanks for an awesome game at an awesome price.
GREAT NEWS! Congrats GoG!
Now looking at the huge pile of nice games in Activision's backyard I think GoG should rise up the pace releasing games in order to keep up with our expectations... :)
i really liked the Star Trek Armada games, which unfortunately don't really work in newer versions of Windows. I would be pleased seeing them on GOG one day.

Agreed.
I just wanted to express my gratitude to GOG.com. Great Job guys.
I think what your doing is great and you stand as a role model to gaming retail in general.
To prospective Publishers who are considering joining GOG.com:
Don't worry about the DRM free aspect. People who want to pirate a game, will do so regardless. There is no protection that cannot be cracked or circumvented. In the end, the people who truly suffer under DRM are paying consumers, exactly the people that you are not supposed to punish and disgruntle with draconian DRM schemes.
To the GOG.com Community worried about GOG signing on companies such as Activision:
Get over yourself. If GOG would only restrict itself to getting "respectable" publishers to join, then the list of games on here would be rather short.
It's a cutthroat business out there. There's probably not a single publisher out there who hasn't angered gamers in one way or another.
Be that as it may. Consider GOG.com a sh*t filter. Removing all the annoying crap and delivering just plain wholesome gaming goodness! Kind of like your digestive tract ;-)

fallen: Excellent work, guys!
I hope I'll see "Heart of China" on GOG someday! (not to mention Police Quest, Larry, King's Quest and Space Quest series from ActiVision/Sierra catalogue:).

You will - maybe not all right away, but definitely some :)

Wikipedia says:
Developer(s) Adeline Software International
Publisher(s)
* Electronic Arts
(European releases)
* Activision
(North American, Asian and Oceanian releases)
* Electronic Arts Victor
(PS1 Japanese release)
LBA are also the holy grail for me but I don't know how these regional distribution rights apply for international digital distribution services.

chautemoc: Congrats x100 to GOG! :)
Welcome Activision! That's freaky to say...
As promised, here is Neoseeker's feature/interview on the announcement. Hope you guys like it!

Very Nice mate. Thanks.
Congratulations on a great addition to the list of publishers, GOG. Onward and upward!

Zakarum: Isn't Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines published by Activision?

Oh YES it is :)

Gilthanaz: What, imho, would have been worth a countdown, would have been the acquisition of all the old bullfrog titles

That is because you have played lots of good Bullfrog games.
We have played lots of good Activision games, and are excited for the exact same reason.
No one can argue that you're not disappointed; that's 100% subjective. But claiming that Activision has released no more than a handful of worthwhile games in its history is ludicrous, particularly when the reason you are not aware of many good Activision games is that you have not played many Activision games.

masterx: Hey is Sam And Max Hit The Road part of Activision too? If so, what's the chance of that game coming?

That's LucasArts game, but yes - we will do all we can to have it up on GOG.com too :)
