Any of you sexy sexy people up for a game of AVPC2K on Steam?
Requirements:
You have to, you know, own the game on Steam.
You must be a sore loser (not really)
You must be able to host because my firewall hates me (at least one of you has to)
You must embrace the Flying Spaghetti Monster as your God
You must be willing to do my taxes for the next 20 years
I know Delixe is in, who else? Multiplayer has, if you haven't noticed, been patched in but it seems quite broken for the moment (for one thing, it's not even been properly announced) but we can probably get some co-op going or something.
If you're in my Steam group you'd get the message already though.

phrequencyviii: I have it.

Then you know, post your Steam profile and stuff.
Oh, and the multiplayer works.
I'd be down for a game at some point.
SteamID = Jungle_Toad
Glad they finally got multiplayer working. I'm up for a game.
Obviously, this is my profile.
Hmmm...I may have to pick this up now.
Out of curiosity, is AVP1 only available on Steam? Anyone spotted a boxed version released?
Just had a quick game with phanboy and lbartley (who doesn't seem to be on the forums that much these days). I was scared shitless, mostly because the music kept getting all freaky and whatnot.
And yes lowyhong, you do need the Steam version because while technically it is a rerelease the multiplayer is completely different in that it uses Steam protocols and stuff.
And no dedicated servers (but hosting from my computer was okay).

I'm pretty sure they only have plans for digital distribution of the AVP1 re-release. It's only on steam now but I would think it would do well on XBLA and PSN. Although I haven't heard any other plans for it outside of steam.
The only boxed copies would be the original releases. I still have the Collector's Edition of it. The steam re-release is definitely worth the purchase. It has all the original CD-DA Redbook audio soundtrack integrated now with modern compression so as not to bloat the file size footprint (only 400MB compared to 2 CDs for Collector's Ed.). Also the original won't run on on a lot of systems today without hunting down some compatible bink (type of video compression used in game) *.dll's .

I might join, but mass effect 2 is going to eap up a LOT of my time. But i'll try to come :p
Dammit, somebody make me on of the GOG admins on the Steam group so I can do this, or I'll just have to create a separate group or something.
We should coordinate this. I would be up for doing this regularly.

Okay, I'll do it like Shacknews does and I'll create a new group just for playing Alien vs Predator. For GOG people only.
I have created said group. I will invite people, and when I invite you (or you or you or you), you can invite others who ask to be invited. You have to own the game first. DURR.
On that note, I'll invite everyone here who has expressed a wish to play. I wonder if there are server passwords, so I can create really funny passwords to annoy you people.

I've got AvP too. Make someone a group, it will be the easiest option of coordination, no?

Like I said a minute ago, I created a group. Post your Steam ID (preferably a profile link as well) and I'll add you.
And why aren't you embracing the Flying Spaghetti Monster as your God?
