Am I the only person to give a loud "WTF???" at the film Alien vs Predator?
Predator : "They only come when it's hottest."
Predator 2 : Middle of the hottest heatwave New York had seen in decades.
AvP : The freaking Arctic??????? Way to go Fox....oh...wait...Fox.... :FACEPALM:!

Shhhhhhhhhhhh. The less said about that movie, the better.

Am i the only person who liked AvP?

The special effects were pretty cool. The rest of the movie was shit. I had read many of the AvP novels and comics over the years and when the movie came out, it was just so "pulled out of the ass" that I had to wince.
For starters, they got the gender of the hero(ine) right, but that's about it. The woman in that movie was way too pretty, weak and stupid to qualify for a PREDATOR to nod and worship her. Etc...

Is this sure that the Aliens RPG has been cancelled?
I mean, SEGA have done, so far, a terrible work of communication concerning the Aliens licence.
Colonial Marines has been so many times rumored as cancelled, then delayed, then canceled, etc...
I still have hope to see Colonial Marines and Aliens RPG to be released.
So disappointed that the only one which is sure to be released is the less interesting... This 'new' AvP game looks exactly the same as the other AvP, just with better graphics but a B-movie blood violence. On this point it's respectful of the AvP movies...
Anyway, those artworks are really interesting, even if the image 20 looks like an Alien-Rancor...

I enjoyed AVp1 and avp2 (movies) for what they were... same reason i liked Predator2 for what it was...
the new Movie is based on LV-426, or Hadley's Hope... and the months before the Incident as Weyland-Yutani calls it. As a note LV-426 is where the Nostromo landed responding to the emergency signal they picked up and that damn curious crewman decided to have some oral fun with a facehugger. Later that became the setting for Aliens which integrated the Marines into the mix. investigating the atmosphere processor and why it sustained so much damage... enough that eventually caused a thermonuclear meltdown. Also some of Aliens vs. Predator (game) takes place here. Weyland just cant seem to get enough alien love and they still need there biological weapon.
But i digress, the movie is going to help usher in the Rebellion reboot of there Franchise. Fox pretty much let go of Colonial marines since gearbox got there butts whooped late last year when the econ tumbled. Its another Duke Nukem Forever i fear. Randy Pitchford says CM is still going and is being worked on but no media that i remember seeing has hit the web since late last year.
But the good news is there IS a new movie and a new video game from the creators of the Franchise. Here is hoping to a great game with mod tools released and a strong community to keep it alive for years to come..
On another note If Avatar pulls it off, i don't think directors will be scared to digitally create a new world and species and with any luck the pred Homeworld and the true origins will be done. Not to mention the many variants of Aliens: Scorpion, Gorilla, Rhino, Bull, Mantis, Crab, Panther Cougar, Snake, Arachnid, Boar.. and the big mother.. the Flying Queen....
Fun Fact 1: I almost got a Weyland-Yutani tattoo on my arm when i was younger.
Fun Fact 2: November 01, 1989 -- November 01, 2009 -- 20 year aniversary since Dark Horse Published Aliens vs. Predator and started the saga. Man i still get chills when i read though them. So rich and full of lore and action.
Fun Fact 3: There are 18 known types of aliens. Not counting the Egg, Facehugger, chestburster phases of development. The type of alien is determined upon the biological makeup of the host animal and the amount DNA which is allowed to mingle during the creation of the chestburster.
Fun Fact 4: Queen and eggs have a distinctive visual difference from the basic warrior caste of Aliens. The queen eggs have spines on them and take on a reddish hue and are protected/coveted even more then the Queen herself.
